While I wasn't a big fan of Bubblegum Crisis, I really loved the AD Police Files spinoff OVA. It's just insane and over the top in the best possible way.
I'll admit that I haven't seen Bubblegum Crisis 2040, but the 80s cheese of the original is the only part of it that appeals to me... without that, I just don't see much of a point?

If the Bubblegum Crisis Blu Rays ever go down in Price I'm all over them.
But for now I might settle for 2040

2040 is OK, but it suffers quite a bit in comparison to the original (assuming you can get over the 80s-ness of the original). The AD Police TV series is just crap.
Patlabor is pretty awesome, though.

I wouldn't say it was bad. The singing might have been bad, but the rest of it was just, really, really bland.johnblade wrote:Is Sakura Wars tv series that bad. I am new in the series but heard good stuff for the game. Would want to go into it if I could but if it`s bad, then I will avoid it.
Of course, I went into it without any background knowledge of the games, so that my skewer ones perception in one way or another. I certainly wouldn't spend $30 on it, though.

I just started Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.
It may just be the best thing ever.

If you're saying that after just starting it, you'll be flipping-out from the awesomeness once it hits its stride around episode 14.

Friend of mine thought the original FLA was really good (much to his surprise), but he hated Brotherhood.
I never watched either.

I'm nearing that now. I'm about an hour into disc 2 (Blu Ray) The Episode Greed shows up in.Nemoide wrote:If you're saying that after just starting it, you'll be flipping-out from the awesomeness once it hits its stride around episode 14.
I saw the first series and hated HATED the end that includes the movie. They go through all that shit only for THAT to happen to them.

Brotherhood is really damn good, among the best of its kind. Although FMA has never really excited me, Brotherhood is just so well paced that you can't help but become sucked in and enamored by it. The final arc in particular is paced so fast and well its ridiculous, I marathoned it and the 12 episodes or so felt like an hour.
I liked the entire thing, but for me it started reaching levels of greatness once the prison arc started.

First series suffered the unfortunate fate of airing during the manga's publication. That considered it still did pretty well. The movie ending was retarded, but a lot of people really liked where the series itself went. I'd take Brohood, no question, but you gotta appreciate the original for still being good after diverging from the source material.TheRev wrote:I saw the first series and hated HATED the end that includes the movie. I had no idea the Original Manga was written by a Woman either. Which now has me drawling Parallels between FMA and Harry Potter.
But yeah so far Everything about Brotherhood just feels right. From how the story is going to how Ed isn't a whiny bitch. Winry being even hotter than she was in FMA1 even the choice of opening themes while I do miss Ready Steady Go, I forgot how terrible a song Melissa was.
