Re: The Comic Book Thread
It's a fairly recent title (not to be confused with Captain Marvel Carol Danvers) I believe there are only two volumes... maybe a third volume in the works.
So... I guess the title I recomend is Ms. Marvel Volume 1. Should be dated 2014 or maybe 2015.

actually it seems like Ms. Marvel Vol. 1 is pretty highly regarded, so I'll keep my eye out on it.samsonlonghair wrote:It's a fairly recent title (not to be confused with Captain Marvel Carol Danvers) I believe there are only two volumes... maybe a third volume in the works.

I'm wondering if I/we should keep a running tab of comics read this year - mostly fun since I'm only just now getting back into it. Should we do that here or in the books thread? Here, probably huh?

Yeah, vol. 1 is titled No Normal. Basically, when Carol Danvers went on to become Captain Marvel (she used to be Ms. Marvel), nobody was Ms. Marvel any longer, meaning shoes to fill and whatnot.noiseredux wrote:actually it seems like Ms. Marvel Vol. 1 is pretty highly regarded, so I'll keep my eye out on it.samsonlonghair wrote:It's a fairly recent title (not to be confused with Captain Marvel Carol Danvers) I believe there are only two volumes... maybe a third volume in the works.

The Wicked + The Divine is awesome, as is Saga and Lazarus. All 3 are great series not tied to DC or Marvel. I'm reading The Wake right now and enjoying it, also. Some horror/sci-fi vibes in it.

I second this statement... hell I consider this statement fact!Ack wrote:Screw that. Instead read the best Marvel book of the 2000s, Nextwave.
If you like insane 90's style action with a plot I highly recommend looking into the Savage Dragon Archives.
If you like superheroes and greek mythology you need to read Wonder Woman vol 1-6 by BRIAN AZZARELLO and Cliff Chian. This New 52 series gives Diana a new origin (daughter of Zeus and an Amazon Queen) and has her kill and take over as the God of War. Its a great read.

I put Nextwave on my wishlist.
Started reading Fantastic Four Season One, which is like a remake. Enjoying it!
