Man. HORSE FEATHERS to me is a classic for many reasons. For one, the movie is over eighty years old and is still hilarious and clever. And then there is Thelma Todd.

I'm no perv, but I do collect Vargas prints. The pin-ups of the 20's and 30's to me define beauty. Thelma had that, in spades. She had everything I like in a woman. An unattainable temptress and tease who seems very coy until you cross the line; then you realize that behind the beauty, this gal ain't taking any of your shit.

Pretty sure the most famous "Pin-up" girl these days is Kat Von D.

*barfs*

And she was the tops in her day. Buster Keaton, Laurel and Hardy, the Marx Bros., everyone was mesmerized by her. Then you also have her death, which I don't think was a suicide or accident.

Either way, even though HORSE FEATHERS wasn't the best Marx Bros. movie, it is a treasure.

I'm not totally sure on how the pin ups looked, but the general idea of beauty in 20's America wouldn't have been my thing. Some of the women of the time were pushing androgyny, and many were too skinny.

Just sayin' my opinion.

You aren't familiar with pin-ups of the 20's then. Google "Vargas Pin-ups". There's nothing androgynous or skinny about them.

Yes, yes, yes.

Looks like more of the same, which I am fine with.

So you mean the modern modeling world then?

And to get back to the film industry, I'd happily watch any Marx Bros. movie, regardless of quality. After all, it's the Marx Bros. I'd also happily watch Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin.

I adore Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, but I simply cannot get into the Marx Brothers. This classic Onion article pretty much sums up how I feel about their films:

Haha, I guess I should note that I actually enjoy puns, so it works for me. I also enjoy the bizarre physical comedy that Harpo would employ, much as I enjoy those gags used by Keaton and Chaplin. Along that line I suppose I should also say that I enjoy the Three Stooges and the Keystone Cops, but that's where the puns and grammar work of the Marx Brothers changes things up: instead of just physical comedy, it incorporates a kind of ridiculous wordplay that just adds another level for me.

This topic has led me to purchasing an original print of Buster Keaton and Thelma Todd from the film SPEAK EASILY. Thanks duders.

I'm really hoping for an early screening of this (like in a weeks). KICK-ASS, as goofy as it was, was so much fun. Wish they wouldn't have waited so long to release this (Hit girl, so far, works better as a kid than a developing woman) and Kick Ass looks like he could actually kick some ass, but hopefully the story covers all of that.

I'm excited about KA2 no matter what.
Pretty sure Big Daddy may make a return, and Jim Carrey doesn't seem to phone this one in. Oh. And the "balls" joke actually works.

Had to do a lot googling after reading this, those Vargas print ladies are mighty fine. I'm generally not a big fan of skinny ladies so I think those Vargas ladies are pretty attractive.

And Kat Von D seems like she would be pretty hot from the pics I've just seen, if she didn't have fifty billion tattoos. I think one or two tattoos on a woman can be pretty sexy, but that's too much. I feel the same way about piercings, it's all about moderation
