Just copied from Wiki: "The show was renewed for a seventh season, with the first half airing in June 2012 and the second set for early summer 2013. It was later revealed that the seventh season would be the final season, as Comedy Central announced that they would not be commissioning any further episodes. The series finale is set to air on September 4, 2013, though Groening has said he will try to get it picked up by another network."

So, new episodes soon and cross your fingers that they'll get picked up by another network!

edit: More from Wiki: "Comedy Central announced in April 2013 that they would not be renewing Futurama, and will air the final episode on September 4, 2013. The producers said that they are exploring options for the future of the series as "we have many more stories to tell", but would gauge fan reaction to the news. Groening and Cohen have previously expressed a desire to produce a theatrical film or another direct-to-video film upon conclusion of the series."

So hopefully Futurama fans will blow up the internet.

I'm surprised at the lack of love for Futurama. My mom's always hated it, but I've met many others lately who don't like it. I always thought it was pretty intelligent humor compared to something like Family Guy.

The show was popular enough to be brought back from the dead years after its initial cancellation. There's no "lack of love" for it.

Well, maybe not overall, just out of the people I know. Its really surprising.

I'm interested to see how they do any further episodes or movies for Futurama. I heard some rumors of it maybe going to Netflix or some such. I really need to get Netflix, speaking of which.

No, I have no idea if they are interested. Adult Swim is relatively isolated from the rest of the company. It just seems like it would be the best choice after Comedy Central drops the show.

I dunno, the few good shows that do show up on adult swim don't seem to stay around. And then stuff like Aqua Teen Hunger Force never dies.
