That score really starts to rocket up near the end. I really need to clear stage 5.
I agree, I can't think of a spot where the game actually slows down. Everything I read on the game mentions it having slowdown though (actual hardware slowdown from pushing the CPS2), thus the DC port's "lack of slowdown" claims.
Maybe the entirety of GW is running "slow" on CPS2 hardware? I could see them porting it, and realizing that the game runs too fast on the DC, thus trying to adjust by slowing the bullets down (apparently not enough, since it seems like the consensus here is that the DC port is harder [Not counting The Stranger])

Scores are all over the map with the multiplier, with chaining, with not dying, with not bombing, with boss milking...
Depends who you are using also - Ruby's first stage has a lot more chaining possibilities than does Stuck's, etc.

Nice score Chris, if you had cleared that stage you would have got well past 10 trillion. Have you tried another ship? Isha seems pretty weak.

Yeah. Isha does seem weak. I have tried the others, but the last time I played this, years ago, Isha was the one I could get furthest with for some reason... I was able to get well into stage 6 then, with a 9.8 trillion score, and I wasn't really trying for score then. So I'd like to break that old score with this character first, then probably give the others a more serious try. I'm just stubborn like that.

Just got in my CPS2 board

Initial reaction having put in a lot of hours on the DC, the DC port is lazy... sound is way nicer on the CPS2, and the slowdown on the CPS2 made stages 3 and 4 a lot easier to handle. I had no problem getting almost 5 trillion on my first run on the CPS2 board, where I struggled to get towards 4 trillion on the DC. Lack of auto-fire has my wrist burning though

Who needs the Stranger ship?
Was actually pretty close to beating the Stage 6 boss this time. Finding it easier to dodge between bullets while waiting for the shield to recharge in the arcade version compared to the DC version.
