I decided to treat myself to something nice before I put the rest towards bills and other boring stuff, so I got a PC Engine with ten games (mostly good ones) for $107 shipped. :D In general, I've noticed that PC Engine games tend to be more reasonably priced than their american equivalents, so I think I'm just gonna do that from now on, unless it's a game like Neutopia that has a lot of text.

:) Someone e-mailed me about my Craigslist ad (the copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy).

:?: Hope this goes somewhere. God knows that I've posted stuff on Craiglist several times in the past and have only had success twice.

:) Found out that the nearest comic book store is relatively close. It's just a long bus ride to the end of the 55 Link and then 0.2 miles away from there. I'm gonna go there when I have money, though I hope that's next Saturday...

:D On FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!!!!! They also do a Free Comic Wednesday, where, without any purchase requirement, you can get up to four back issues. They also do Magic the Gathering tournaments, Cardfight Vanguard tournaments, and so on.

Stop spending money on things you don't need. Don't buy a DVD just because it is in the bargain bin. Use a shopping bag for a trash recepticle. You keep posting "OMG I have no money" and "I'm spending money" in the same posts over and over. :|

That is what people do when they get free money.

I am very comfortable - and would not trade places with anyone - but it is kind of depressing to see my tax dollars spent on a PC Engine and comic books... :?

If you are going to brag about buying these things with unemployment income, please do not expect much sympathy when you are crying poverty later...(Or, as I once read, "You can't plead poverty just because there is no money left after you have finished spending all of it.")

Actually, Hobie's original response was to REPO, who to my knowledge isn't on welfare and has sold some of his personal items and moved with his family to try and find employment. Not that I'm saying your criticism isn't valid. Just not what was originally discussed.

Uh, to be fair, he did say that he's going on free comic book day, so no purchase required. It is, in general, very good advice, just not appropriate to this situation? (Then again, the "when I have enough money" bit does seem to indicate a purchase will be made, but that is almost certainly negated by the excitement for free stuff.)

Based on his 10:08 AM post, I am fairly certain that he is drawing unemployment. That said, he seems like a great kid who has had it really rough. I really hope that things turn around for him soon (and I am still rooting for him to make that move to NYC).

EDIT: I was also up working to 3:00 AM last night; so, I feel a bit like Ebenezer Scrooge at the moment. :?

Just so ya know, I generally don't spend money I don't have. The PC Engine purchase was a one time deal (I rarely spend that kind of money on myself) and I wasn't intending to do any other such shopping until I have some sort of regular income again. Unfortunately, it's on the books now that I was let go because of my Autism, so I may not be able to find another job if employers decide I wouldn't be worth hiring. I've been trying to avoid filing for disability because I don't want to be a leech, but if I can't find a job, I may not have a choice.
I'm not a glitch, I just have pixlexia.

It's a cool find, no doubt, and I hope that you sued the assholes that fired you on account of your autism. I also hope that things turn around for you soon so that you don't have to file for disability.

In any event, I apologize for the tone of my previous post. I am just in a bad mood today, I guess.
