Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
I know. It's weird. My roommate had one back in the day when they were actually new. And that was the console that introduced me to the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series. Such great memories. And strangely, my local game place tends to have them in stock often for like $30 a piece. But I dont know. I don't really have a lot of extra room for more consoles, so I've tried to keep my setup simple. I figure with a PS2 (which is soft-modded, and has an HDD) I have a lot of emulators, plus the PS1 and PS2 library which is fucking vast! Then I've got the GameCube with the GBPlayer, which of course means a gigantic and excellent Nintendo library. SO those are the consoles I've stuck with thus far. I suppose if I were to ever pick up another retro system, it WOULD be a DC, but like I said, for now I dont have the room to setup another console. And really, I think my next console will be a next gen (most likely Wii, if only for the VC!)

Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
Noiseredux,
I have to apologize. Racket and I write most everything you see for TR and I really dropped the ball the past three months. Momocon became my primary hobby and got every waking moment that wasnt already given to girlfriend or work - and since the girlfriend is in another state...lets just say up until mid last week I was still doing 6-12 hours of work a day on the con. Now that the con is over, I have free time again and we should be more on schedule. I should also be joining in on the discussions now - its your decision to take that as a good or bad thing.
I should also mention, I do not know all that much about Punchout...

Don't feel bad - I don't have one either.noiseredux wrote:Nope. I'm maybe the only Racketboy member without a DC. haha.
Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
Fastbilly, is Punchout for NES next on the list? If so and it needs a write-up, I'm well familiar with the game and I might actually have a little time to put together an entry for it.
Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
Racket expanded it to the entire Punchout Series for the release of the newest title this June. Anything you have on any version would be a welcome addition.

Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
Yeah. We gotta wait til June. Anyway, I'm planning on snatching Animal Crossing (GC) for Punch-Out! and Fight Night 2 (GC) for Super Punch-Out! So I should be pretty all set when June rolls around.
Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
I have a copy of Mike Tyson's Punch Out. I've played it a bit. I still can't beat Super Macho Man, though. I enjoy the lower ranked fighters the most.
Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
I played Mike's back in the day, and some of the arcade version over the years but never really devoted anytime to it. So I dont really think I am the best to write about Punchout - I do love the fandom though (almost as clever as the Natural Selection fans).

Re: Upcoming Together Retro Calendar
Though sadly I cannot take part this month... I want to say great job coming thru and getting the TR posted on the 1st of the month. I'm glad you took my suggestion. I hope the format gets stuck to, because I think it will help out a lot.
