I sure hope they do. I feel it actually follows the same formula as the Witcher 3 with the DLC. A few little extras, something a bit larger in scope, and a huge finale.

I could be remembering things wrong but I believe Witcher 3 added a few quests, three sets of armor, some weapons and other useful things outside of the season pass. The pass itself added a whole new questline on the main land and the second part added an entire new land. I think it was all handled well.

So similar. Next we would need to judge quality and for that we'd have to wait. Ultimately I am getting the season pass on day one. I just have to wait until the end of the year to see it all.

Witcher 3 had 16 free dlcs, adding cosmetic items like horse armor and beards aswell as quests in the existing areas. Aswell as 2 paid DLCs which add large areas to the world. The most recent one Blood and Wine routinely as marked as 30-40 hours of gameplay.

Nintendo's track record with DLC is mostly characters, stages, and cosmetic items. We have not had them release an actual campaign (to my knowledge). So we will not know what it will be until later down the road.

For the other conversation. DLC is the new Expansion pack. Sure some of it is bullshit, like day one paid dlc, but that is the way the world has shifted. End of story.

If the story content is significant, I may be okay with this. But I have no real desire for paying for cosmetic items or a hard mode. Unless said hard mode really adds a ton of strategic depth to the game.

Hey Tanooki. No one really cares that you have a bug up your butt about dlc.

I pretty much never buy DLC day 1, but I tend not to buy games day 1 either. I've never been a cutting-edge player and I think the GBA SP is the only system I bought on day 1. But I do think there has been some great DLC. Fortunately, most PC games get GoTY releases, but some games I anticipate enjoying enough to buy pre-DLC. For example, if I had known how much I would like the Borderlands 2 DLC, especially the Tiny Tina bit, I would have bought a season pass up-front with the core game. The Tiny Tina DLC felt big enough to be comparable to a game expansion from times of old. Same thing for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The Missing Link DLC was pretty good, and priced appropriately. It even solved the boss problem the rest of the game had.

So yeah, some DLC sucks. Some expansions sucked, too. I don't really see the core principles of the market having changed much.

Bogus you just reminded me why it took only days ago to remove the block on seeing your posts. I don't really care what your thoughts are but if someone gets on my case about how I feel about something I'm going to respond.

I'm not wrong, they're not wrong. That's really the most simple answer here. You either are into it and support being microcharged for a package or you don't, or you find some ground in between. I'm one who will barely touch the stuff unless I feel the developer earned it, typically with a free to play game I get decent hours out of I'll consider it a late payment or a tip for a good job.

I mostly won't buy DLC day one in the rare cases I have popped for it. It usually would be a case where I truly valued a franchise enough knowing I'd actually without a doubt use the stuff I'd go for it. Typically though it's included stuff like the Taken King package with Destiny or back when Uncharted 3 came out with the extras at launch. Mostly I just wait for a GOTY release or if I've moved on caring by then I don't even buy the game at all. It just depends.

If you've preordered than good for you. Just get it on Wii u for those without switch console. Thing is very few games on switch wait till fall season cuAse Mario and other games will be out.

Oh I totally understand. For those that don't want to jump on the Switch, the Wii U is a perfectly acceptable choice.

Season. Pass. Zelda. Nintendo.

They did a fine job with Mario Kart 8 DLC. I hope this works out well.

I'm annoyed, but I'm not buying it so I guess I don't really care. Game looks big enough as is and I'm not much of a completionlist anymore, especially in this onslaught of OPEN WORLD PHENOMENA!!! So I'll probably get enough mileage out of the main game. I was okay with the Amiibo stuff for Twilight Princess, since it was basically pointless and the Wolf dungeon sucked. Otherwise, a Zelda type game seems like the LAST thing that would work with season passes/DLC and the things they've talked about don't sound worth $20 at all.

Hard Mode, AKA Hero Quest mode or whatever being locked behind this is total BS too.

Incoming $5.99 Unbreakable Clubs and Swords.

If Season Passes keep being a thing and supported I wonder if we'll just see a price spike to $80 base vanilla releases sometime soon.
