We already hit the first stretch goal. Cinema Shorts will happen. I'm surprised the average contribution is around 80 dollars.

Yes you can, with this.ninjainspandex wrote:Can I import a save from an NTSC Dreamcast Shenmue 1 to PAL Shenmue 2?Betagam7 wrote:Definately Dreamcast. It feels much nicer to import your save and continue on exactly as you left off.ninjainspandex wrote:So I just started Shenmue 1 on the Dreamcast, should I play Shenmue 2 Pal version on the DC or the US Xbox version? I kind of like the cheesey English dub.
Xbox version also gets the gender of one of its characters a little...confused in the western dub.
It has some nicer filters and a camera mode but that's all I remember about it. Maybe quicker load times?

NOPE! I found out you can burn this disk and it will convert your NTSC save to a PAL one

Re: Shenmue 3 Kickstarter
I was thinking about how all those supposed Shenmue fans will have to put their money where their mouth is.
And they did. So well done.
Not going to lie I definitely didn't think it would ever happen. My Twitter went nuts.

Older. Not wiser.

I am far from alone in thinking the series is vastly overrated. It is a divisive pair of games, to say the least. I happy for you I suppose, but I think most of the acclaim the series gets is misplaced.BogusMeatFactory wrote:Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahhaahahahahahahahaha.dsheinem wrote:Maybe the third time will be the charm and a game that doesn't suck will bear the Shenmue name.
Doubtful, though.
Any news of what vastly superior arcade titles will be playable in-game?
Sorry. I'm laughing at you, not with you.
I'll spare you the trouble. Here's what to do to get the experience:ninjainspandex wrote:So I just started Shenmue 1 on the Dreamcast, should I play Shenmue 2 Pal version on the DC or the US Xbox version? I kind of like the cheesey English dub.
1) Spend an hour wandering around your town, occasionally asking people if they have seen any sailors.
2) Go to your closest arcade and have fun for a couple of hours.
3) Flail your hands and feet about towards the air in the vicinity of random people. Try to look humorously menacing.
4) Ask your local high school English teacher if you can read an example of "B" quality student creative writing. Read all of it but the last page.
5) Salute the Japanese flag.
There you go, that's pretty much the Shenmue 1/2 experience in a nutshell. You can get it done in a few hours and spare yourself lots of bad voice work, subpar visuals, lacking direction, flat characters, and tedious "gameplay".
(also: I suppose if you have access to a forklift you could drive that around to your destinations starting with step 2.)

Damn Dsh, way to be a debby downer. I played a few hours last night and I really was impressed with the game and am quite enjoying it.

Don't mind Dave over there. He doesn't like things. I am glad you are enjoying it though.ninjainspandex wrote:Damn Dsh, way to be a debby downer. I played a few hours last night and I really was impressed with the game and am quite enjoying it.
The biggest piece of advice I have to give you is to take your time. Explore everything, open everything. Don't necessarily run through the plot points. Just take things in. Shenmue 1 is a much more mellow experience than Shenmue 2 so you have that opportunity to really take things in. When you get to 2, things speed up a lot and again... you have to try and just set time aside to explore.
There is so much that you probably won't see through your initial play through and that is kind of the point. Keep talking about it and enthuse with me!

One of many. Also, there may or may not be a point of time in your life where you spend your entire day at the Tomato Convenience Store participating in raffles to get yourself a sega saturn.ninjainspandex wrote:I must admit one of those hours was spent buying capsule toys
