Regardless of our political affiliations, I hope everyone voted. To not vote is unpatriotic and irresponsible. Countless people have died for this country so we can have this privilege.

I mostly agree with you - but let me say something I heard on the Dan Berreiro show yesterday, from a first lieutenant who called into his show.

He contends the above thinking is not necessarily how many in the military feel and he wishes people would stop making the statement. His point was, they fight and die so you can have the choice, to either use or not use the privilige. He views that as what they are fighting for as much as anything else and fully respects the choice to not vote as much as the choice to vote.

One last thing, as it applies to REAL LIFE.

The Democrats are on line. The Republicans are at the polls. This thread and yesterday's vote is evidence enough. Type away, but you won't go out and vote. If actions speak louder than words, this board is not even a whisper.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is irresponsible. I would say it is more irresponsible to vote without doing any research. It is important to vote for someone who will back up your personal interests and views on how you want to see the nation and your state move forward. At least do the most basic of research with bullet points of what candidates stand for.

Of course, I respect your view on it and I personally have taken voting seriously these last few years and do feel that voting is an important role that we as citizens should take just as seriously.

I am mostly conservative jvalentine, but I base my beliefs of rational and logical thinking. You just spew stuff out that doesnt make much sense and make other conservatives look bad by association.

Before voting, I took a silly questionnaire that told me who to vote for (which I did not follow) and it said that I should either vote Libertarian or Democrat

I write-in voted for David S. Heineman for so many things yesterday. Doesn't look good so far, but stranger things have happened.

Gamefaqs is clearly known as a bastion of liberalism and political correctness so clearly this comparison makes sense

For a soldier, fighting and dying for the freedom of their nation is noble. Having the freedom thereof for said nation's citizens to decide their ruling government is a privilege that should be exercised in return. Choosing to ignore this utmost responsibility as a free citizen is therefore disrespectful of those who died to make it possible. That is how I feel about it at least. Yes you can choose to not vote. That is a freedom of choice. But citizens turning a cold shoulder to government body creations has not gone well for certain countries in the past. So I for one do my part and vote.

You can't disrespect someone if you have never...Nirvana album after Bleach.

This thread is the worst ever. Even worse than Bleach.

Besides what EX just posted. That was actual solid stuff.
