I finished playing in the RB tournament ... that online was smooth as silk. I didn't even notice any discrepancies. Usually when playing online in games, I'll see some bouncing around due to the server updating. This felt like everyone was playing locally, and that's awesome.

I concur that sentiment! Everyone seemed to be playing lag free. Not a single moment did I question the validity of play based on lag and the sort. We had people from all over the U.S. playing and not a hiccup! So good to see. This really gives me high hopes for Smash Bros.

I really hope to meet-up again soon. I will train and be able to compete with Cav and Bogus:)
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

I decided to try out the "wheel" controls tonight, just to see how it felt, and I was surprised that it was not nearly as bad as I expected. The first track I was on, I was drifting like normal by the second turn, and other than a couple times of jumping the wrong way for the drift, I felt it did not handicap me. I then decided to try out Rainbow Road, and really see how it controls, and was able to do decent, but I did fall off the track a few more times than normal.

I guess when we have a full house to play the game, whomever gets stuck with the wheel controls wont be at too much of a disadvantage.

I got the game Sunday eve (broke down and used my eShop credit).

I have noticed that I am real inconsistent - one night I will do great and the next time I play I suck. I have been playing with the gamepad and the motion controls and have not yet used the analog option. I am pretty used to the motion controls since MK Wii and the SNES MK are the only ones I own and have played.

The best thing about this game is that my wife plays it too. She never plays games (other than on her phone) and she is having a blast. We cleared all the 50cc tracks together.

Tell me more about this RB tournament?

I play almost exclusively on the wheel and I do pretty well. I find that the motion controlls with the wii-remote to be a lot more responsive than the game pad motion controls, however. The only thing that was holding me back during the racketboy races last night was my kart and character choices, as I was seeing how the different weight classes match up against playing real people online.

Jumping the wrong way for a drift is definitely a common problem when starting off with the motions controls, but you tend to get quickly overcome that problem. For me, it really provides a natural flow...I can get into the turns more easily and have a lot more control over how far I am drifting, whereas with a thumbstick you have two directions, into the turn and out of the turn. The only gripe I have over the motion controls is holding items. It is a bit uncomfortable to hold a shell or banana peel behind you when driving.

Oh it is delightful! All it really is, is a scheduled time for people to come and race. It is private and accessible by code only found on the tournament thread on the forums and it tracks how well people are doing overall. I am kind of more interested in the friend rooms instead of the tournaments because I would like to use voice chat in the lobbies to enthuse about the races instead of using the predetermined quotes. I can only say, "I'm using tilt controls!" so many times in there! haha!

Tried out a demo of the game and I really really liked it. The Wii U has a very strong line up for my tastes now and I'll be getting one sooner or later.

Anyway one disappointing thing was that I tried out the San Francisco like level and it didn't have any gravity tricks from what I could tell :(
