So I just figured out these exist:

Anyone have one? Love it or hate it? Does it have the proper inputs to support your retro gaming habits?
It might be a decent little set up to pair with a Vita TV if it ever comes to North America...

Re: PS3 lives on....
I have one. Far as I know it's discontinued and thus the price on new units has crept back up.
It only has 2 HDMI and 1 component input, but that's good enough for basically any Sony system outside of a PS1. The notable thing about it there is that, if you've used a PSP via component cables before, then you may recall the crossbar UI fills the TV, but then there's a black border around game content. This display has a zoom mode ("PSP Zoom") designed to remedy that specific thing. Possibly the only TV or monitor that does.
The speakers are terrible, and start distorting at about the point things are audible. Another common (and valid) complaint is that the controls for the screen are on the back, with no remote included. This is fine on a computer monitor that turns on and stays on and is rarely adjusted. This display will power off if it doesn't sense input...within seconds. Plus, there are menus you might want to traverse semi-regularly, such as that zoom feature. In short, it's a pain in the butt in ways that I can't recall any other display being.
What isn't as widely publicized is that it does have an IR sensor, and you can use a Sony remote, which makes things a lot nicer. I just use one from a late 90s vintage Trinitron.
IMO, the 240Hz, 3D support, and PSP functionality at least are nice perks. It is quirky though, and not always priced like it should be.

How is the SimulView?
Did you play any 3D games and felt it was better than 2D?

Re: PS3 lives on....
While mainly I'm an Xbox guy I know for a fact the PS3 will live on forever.
Its just too versatile to just die IMO. I have a 500GB super slim with a handful of physical games I can't get bored of (no exclusives mind you), and a bunch of downloaded games from the PSN. Factor in that its a swiss army knife of a system, complete with online streaming, DVD and Blu-ray player, can connect to your wirelessly connected PC, and you can see its an essential tool in the media landscape.
One wish: while I have PSOne classics on the system I wish you can download and play PSP games on it.

Never tried it, in part because I only have the one pair of glasses it comes with, and in part because it's not really relevant to my usage.RCBH928 wrote:How is the SimulView?

The only 3D content I really tried was the Motorstorm game it came with, and only briefly. I didn't find the 3D glassed comfortable to wear over my regular glasses for very long.
Re: PS3 lives on....
Any tried that new game squeenix published "Murdered: Soul Suspect"? Sounds kinda interesting for a game that doesn't have the final fantasy name on it

It'll be $20 before you know it. I'll be trying it out at some point, provably whenever I get a PS4.darsparx wrote:Any tried that new game squeenix published "Murdered: Soul Suspect"? Sounds kinda interesting for a game that doesn't have the final fantasy name on it

From what I have read, my hopes are nto high for that one despite its interesting premise. I will just have to play Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective instead.CavZee wrote:It'll be $20 before you know it.
