1. Back to the Future: The Game - PC
2. Syndicate - PC
3. Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - PC

Total for 2014: 3

Syndicate - PC
I am surprised to say that I really liked Syndicate. It had a nice cyber punk world, that will remind you very much of Deus Ex, it has some really smart gunplay where you have to think as well as have quick reflexes and graphically it is a beautiful game. I think having the Syndicate name more than likely hurt the title than it did give it brand recognition as all it did was piss off fans of the originals as it has nothing at all to do with them.

Big downfall of the game is the extreme overuse of bloom (I fixed this somewhat with SweetFX, but it can't be fixed any settings or cfg tweaks). The below image happens so often it is not funny.

The second big breaker for the game is that it is clearly made for a console because the mouse controls are so broken it is not funny, feels like you are playing with a roller ball. No real fix so I eventually played through with my xbox controller.

Once I squashed those two issues, the bloom only half squashed, I really enjoyed the game.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - PC
A big step up from III, I don't feel like I even need to go into the details too much as so many people have spoken about the game. But I will point out the things that stayed with me.

The game is utterly beautiful, it is not as well optimized as it should be on the PC.

The combat system is much improved over III, which somehow took a big step backwards from past games in the series.

They took the boat system from III and just ran with it, was actually fun to roam the seas in this game.

There are far too many missions that have you follow someone from the shadows for 5 minutes.

The game was actually too big at times, when I first started I was loving collecting everything, but when you realize the size of the games map as well having to jump off your boat to swim to a small island to get a item, then swim back, the inspiration to collect as much as you can fades away fast.

There are some really great characters in the game, however for whatever reason Ubisoft never lets them really develop, so many of the games 'filler' missions could have been used to get to know the core characters better. Too often in the game someone dies or a event happens and I could not give two shits about the character they are happening to.

I think it is the best game in the series since II.

Just beat the story mode of WWE 2K14, the "30 Years of WrestleMania" mode.

Pretty fun. Set-up just like WWE '13's Attitude Era mode. But it did feel a little copy & paste from WWE '13, and not quite as much TLC put into it. But you'll still get plenty of enjoyment out of it if you're a wrestling fan, or an old one feeling nostalgic. It spans from the Hulkamania era all the way to this very last WrestleMania.

Oh nice, it's shorter than I thought it was. I may take a crack at this one. Actual Qix games seem to go on forever.

Games Beaten 2014:
1. Diablo II / Lord of Destruction *NEW*

Games Beaten 2013
1. Bioshock Infinite [PC]
2. Demon's Crest [SNES]
3. Sacred Citadel [PC]
4. Dishonored [PC]
5. Bastion [PC]
6. Torchlight 2 [PC]
7. TMNT: Turtles in Time [SNES]
8. Mark of the Ninja [PC]
9. Mega Man X [SNES]
10. Mega Man X2 [SNES]
11. Diablo [PC]

First game completed this year, and I accomplished my goal of beating all of the previous Diablo titles before the release of the new expansion. Going back and playing through the second was immensely enjoyable, mostly because I was taking my time with the game and it's story, rather than getting rushed like in almost all my previous play throughs. I also really enjoyed playing a Druid since I've never gotten past Act II with one before.

Now it's on to the Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD remix, having never played the original.

1. King of Fighters R-2 (NGPC)

Have been under the weather this weekend. So thought I'd grab a portable game that didn't require much thinking to just plow thru in front of the TV. KOF R2 fit the bill perfectly. Was fun, fast and man... even Pocket Rugal is a dick. Unreal.

Yeah, there's a cutscene that will play at the start of either 7-1 or 8-1 which pretty much tells you you're nearing the end, so keep an eye out for it! Also, learn the location of special items hidden around the map. They make things much easier.

I beat Spyborgs for the Wii last night and thought it's quite alright. There are some problems (e.g. WiiMote gimmicks, lame plot, etc.) but it's a competent beat em up worth a playthrough. I wish I knew about this game back in '09 so I could've bought it new and did my part to support it.

1. Mortal Kombat II - 32X
2. Cosmic Carnage - 32X
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade - XBLA
4. X-men Arcade - XBLA
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist - Genesis
6. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time - SNES

All replays for me.

However, they were all first time experiences (or briefly tried so long ago as not to matter) for my girlfriend, who powered through them with me earlier this evening. She loved them all.

Two hours of bliss. :D

That's nice and all, but this thread is about the games you beat, not your sex life after beating those games.
