I beliece sociologists can do a case study on gamer's need for labels for other gamers who are "different" than them. At least that's what this reminds me of.
I mean there are also terms like "bookworm" or "cinephile" but people don't debate about it that much. It's just someone who loves and reads/watches a lot of books/films. No one demends from them to read specific genres.
This gen. is over . Do you hold highly any console?

Fixed that for ya. It's a human trait, not a gamer trait.ZeroAX wrote:I believe sociologists have already done a million studies on the human race's instinctive need to label other humans who are "different" than them.

The book world isn't any different: classic literature and other more "fine" forms of literature are seen as technically superior to NASCAR romance novels, Twilight books and other "low level" literature. Movies aren't any different either, ever heard of movie snobs?
Just because there is a hierarchy system doesn't mean that some one who reads fine literature or watches art films can't enjoy trash novellas and really poor movies.
The hierarchy system just represents the fact that some works are more demanding, technical, complex etc. But because video games are different form of entertainment, an interactive medium, they are more multifaceted, so comparing different works is harder.

Of course they do. Someone who reads only once in a while wouldn't describe themselves as a bookworm, nor would a literary critic deign to be called one either. A professor of cinema isn't the same as a ciniphile, nor is someone who goes to see movies every once in a while one.ZeroAX wrote:I mean there are also terms like "bookworm" or "cinephile" but people don't debate about it that much. I will say that it's not worth arguing over and those who want to inject "hardcore" into established definitions should properly be ignored and laughed off.

Dale Earnhardt gently caressed Harry Gant's cheek. "Be my wizard, Harry," he said with a sensual glow of longing in his eyes.AppleQueso wrote:watMenegrothx wrote:NASCAR romance novels
