I would appreciate some help with my audio problem (one speaker only).
I'm using the VGA cable plugged into the back of my Sony XBR4's PC-IN input and getting sound out of one speaker.
This is what the input looks like:
http://www.hometheatermag.com/images/ar ... dm52.2.jpgRGB + one stereo audio 3.5 mm input.
AWESOME image but mono sound and there is no audio or speaker adjustment in the TV settings that can send it to both speakers.
Not sure if I should expect this or if there is something wrong with the cable.
Any suggestions are much appreciated.
thanks.

Do you have other speakers like some PC speakers or headphones to try it on?
Maybe it's the VGA box's fault...
If that's the case, I can exchange it for you...

good news..
Tried the PC speakers and they worked but then when I plugged the DC VGA back to the tv, sure enough, it worked.
I don't think it was loose connectors but a problem with my back-up copy of SA2 that was causing popping and cracking.
Thanks for the replacement offer.
Can't say enough about the cable! Everything ever said about DC VGA is true and more. On a 46 inch Sony Bravia my DC VGA destroys my Wii component (ouch, poor Wii) and give a more vibrant and satisfying visual presentation than PS3 HDMI!

awesome

And yeah, I always get a kick when people are so surprised at the quality.
You always hear people say it's better, but you don't really understand until you see it in person

I know the VGA compatibility list from Racketboy states that Power Stone works, but it doesn't seem to work with my Power Stone JPN version that I've just bought. I am wondering if maybe it is a bad copy. It cannot be my dreamcast because I tested other games and they work just fine on VGA. When I tested my JPN Power Stone, the game works just fine on AV and S-Video, but not on VGA. It just loads up the Sega screen and after that nothing. The games still runs because I can hear it spinning and the memory card has a "power stone" logo on it. Has anyone else experienced this with his/her JPN Power Stone game??? Perhaps it is just a defective game. If it is, then I'll have return it to the buyer.

Sometimes compatibility between regions differs (not always or often)
Kinda hard to confirm unless someone else has a JP copy.

Lythinca wrote:The cable will give the same result. You're getting that error because your HDTV cannot output 640x480 resolution. (Which is the resolution the dreamcast runs at.)
Newer Tv's and monitors don't usually do 640x480, as theres no need for them to output at that low of a resolution, yet older TV's and monitors do it that fine.
Try a different monitor/tv.
im having a simaliar problem with my dreamcast and my epson s5 projector. i bought the vga cable from here(wich came today

) but i keep getting a "no signal" sighn everytime. my ps2 ,pc,hdtv works fine with the projector just not my dreamcast . i plugged the cable up to my old ibm monitor to check if the cable got damaged during shipping woks fine but i want to play on 102 inch not 15 inch

I think the answer is in the post you quoted

It would look better not scaled anyway, so I suggest sticking to the IBM monitor.
