Buying video games, tax views

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Oh no what have we done to this thread?

I guess anything with the word 'taxes' in it was bound to become political at some point. I know I'm guilty too, but yeah.

I'd love to one day make a thread about Atheism/abortion/war just for the trolling, but I haven't found an excuse for it yet (and seeing how small a thing provided me with the excuse to make the most troll/lol thread in the history of the forum http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 44&t=32674, you can bet your ass I'd do it . Nah I'm not as bad as izzy (I think), so the mods can sleep safe).

Finland. Nihilum/Ensidia actually isn't the best WoW guild in the the world anymore, Paragon is nowadays (or atleast it used to be, dunno if it's anymore since I quit playing). So we're better than Sweden both academically and in WoW, go nationalism. Nihilum made better videos though.
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

They are doing better than you economically and at furniture though

When I was playing WoW I had noticed that Swedish players were much more common than the ratio of their population to the rest of Europe should have allowed them. (then again with French, German, Italians and Spanish all on their own servers, there weren't many big countries left).

Interesting math statistics, Menegrothx.

I work with Japanese exchange students. The 13/14 year old kids (ie: 8th graders) are usually placed right into senior level AP calc. Blows my mind.

Majority of people in my realm were Danish/Swedish/Norwegian/Finnish. There were some realms that were just dominated and over run by Swedish or Finnish players. Scandinavia (especially Sweden) in general seems to be "overrepresented" in eSports and online gaming. More cold and dark climate=people spend more time indoors, I guess.

What do 13/14 year olds study in math in the US? "We" outscored Japan in math, yet the most "complex" stuff we had in jr high (ages 13-15) was volume calculations (Sphere and Cone) and first degree equations, really simple stuff. Math becomes harder in high school (ages 15-18) if you choose advanced math, but only 25% (or less) of all students choose to study it (50% go to vocational school, 50% go to high school).

Plus I think they have a pretty good internet infrastructure up there.

^Estonia man. Nation free Wifi, which you can use to VOTE! If I could keep my guns, Europe/Australia wouldn't be too bad of a move...

Estonia actually has a CCW law (and so does Czech republic).

Unless you own full autos, most of your stuff should be legal here, including "assault weapons" (semi auto versions of AR-15s, Ak47 and other assault rifles, quite popular among sport shooters here). Silencers can be purchased with out a permit which is nice. The problem usually isn't legality per se, it's just that you need to apply for a permission when buying a gun (by being a sport shooter/hunter), while in many US states just about any one can buy guns with out much effort. Just about every one who lives in the country side owns a shotgun and/or a hunting rifle here so they're not really hard to get, but sadly it's harder to get a hand gun these days (handgun hunting for the most part isn't legal, there are few exceptions though). Afaik collectors could have full autos and other cool stuff back in the day, but since we joined EU and had a couple of school shootings, gun control laws have become more strict.

^That's how a local gun shop advertised Desert Eagle/Mossberg 590 :)

And I'm sure you're already familiar with the gun laws of Switzerland. Only a few EU countries actually are like the UK in this regard, it's just that in most countries mostly hunters and sport shooters own guns, (and most countries don't have mandatory military service either) so there isn't a same kind of gun culture as there in America.
