I watched Batman Year One last night and they handled the voice just fine without too much change between Bruce and the Bat.
My take on Superman and Batman was that people would see Bruce and Clark and think wow they look just like...
If I was at the mall and saw someone that looked like Anne Hathaway I would say "Hey that looks just like Anne Hathaway!" and would never say definitively "Hey that is Anne Hathaway!"
In Superman Returns, Batman Year One, and other incarnations they pull off the "they look like" but could never be take.
Plus, Batman is normally only heard by thugs, punks, and villains who would normally never talk to Bruce Wayne to compare the voices. And when the adrenaline is pumping during a battle between a hero and villain one is not keying on the sound of the other's voice.
What do you want out of the next Batman series?

One of my favorite scenes in BATMAN (1989) was when Vale and Batman are in the batmobile together and Vale gives him the "don't I know you?" look and Batman very nonchalantly tries to look the other way. Classic scene.

Re: What do you want out of the next Batman series?
I have that, but have't watched it yet. I'll have to reserve judgement until then. I've never been as big a fan of Miller's Dark Knight Returns as some people thoughindecks wrote:Gamerforlife wrote:. You can't fuck up Joker in Batman movies. I've yet to see it happen.
It's happened. Google Michael Emerson, Dark Knight Returns. I think Dark Knight Returns was terrible, with even terrible(r) art. The animated movie is nearly a PERFECT retelling. It's awful, chooses a terrible voice over actor (Peter Weller, I mean I love the guy but not as Batman), and then Michael Emerson plays Joker. Or at least will play him in the 2nd part, since the one that came out was just the first part.
That was harsh I admit. I was just trying to get across that this is another disappointing cinematic take on the character. I never connected with Selena Kyle in this movie, never cared about her, and never had a reason to root for her. I felt that before the big reveal that she was the villain, Talia's character had been built up as a far better love interest for Bruce. I'll say more about her a bit later. I never understood why Bruce would fall in love with Selena as I watched the movie or run away with her. She's a self centered bitch who didn't even have the decency to apologize for him getting his goddamn back broken and nearly killed because she double crossed him. Fuck this movie's version of Catwoman.AppleQueso wrote:Yikes. I totally get preferring Pfeifer, but come on. Anne is leagues above what Halle Berry did.Gamerforlife wrote: Anne Hathaway didn't really amaze me as Catwoman. Pfeifer still is the best Cat we've ever seen. We can throw Anne Hathaway in with Halle Berry.
With Pfeiffer in Batman Returns, they established a believable connection between her and Batman and Keaton and Pfeiffer had much more onscreen chemistry than Bale and Hathaway. Catwoman's role in Dark Knight Rises felt very forced. Lately though, I just hate Catwoman in general. I wish she'd get killed off in the comics. I think Burton and Pfeiffer's Catwoman is the only version of her I can really tolerate these days. At least that movie showed us how she became a bad person, whereas in all other variations of the character she is just introduced as a bitch from the get go and we're just supposed to like her for some reason.
I see a lot of people saying this. I HATED Bane's voice. I couldn't understand him half the time and he sounded cheesy and over the top, especially the way his voice seemed sooooo much louder than every other character. I think Bane is the lamest villain of the trilogy. In the few moments where we got Talia as the villain, she was leaps and bounds better than Bane. SHE should have been the main villain for the ENTIRE movie. That would have been AWESOME. In fact, they should just do an origin of Damien Wayne story for the next Batman movie reboot, and have Talia be the main villain of that movie. Give us a WOMAN villain to carry a Batman movie for a change. That would be different and a nice way to put a fresh spin on the franchise. They always go with male villains. Burton's Catwoman doesn't count since she had to co-star with Penguin, who was arguably the main villain of Batman Returns.AppleQueso wrote: I pretty much agree with you here (though I actually liked Bane's voice a lot).
I'm complaining a lot, so let me say something positive. I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt was AWESOME in this movie. In fact, every time I saw him I just thought, "he should be the goddamn Batman!" And that was before they revealed his fate at the end of the movie

Have you heard the rumors of Gordon-Levitt returning for the Justice League film? I suppose one downside is if that's true, it might be a while before we see a Batman film universe reboot...Gamerforlife wrote: I'm complaining a lot, so let me say something positive. That was such a great movie. Burton's version of the Batman character is still my favorite, but Nolan and Bale have done great things with the character, and what else needs to be said about Heath Ledger's Joker performance? Definitive.Luke wrote:AppleQueso wrote:
