As for AS and their policies...I have no idea. They have a different location in Atlanta, across the interstate from us.
I figured they were shooting for teens as well. Regular Show doesn't seem like something that would especially appeal to pre-teens.

And as for AS, if their lineup is anything to go by they're run by a computer. Same goes for Boomerang.

Toonami is coming Back 05-26-12. Adult swim has official stated this and also stated that it will be on every saturday after that. they are also bring back the Tom bumpers and his game reviews! They are actually bringing it back. I am hoping they do some new and old shows, such as Sailor Moon and zoids, then throw in some of the anime they have already on adult swim and then some new ones. This 26th is going to be awesome. Here are some links.

Also adult swim has officially said that. "TOONAMI - Beginning Saturday, May 26, Adult Swim brings back Toonami, the network's popular block of anime programming. Airing weekly from midnight to 6 a.m. (ET/PT), in addition to the return of previous series featured in Toonami, Adult Swim is also developing new original anime programming for fans." :D  :P :!: :!: :!: :!: :!:  :!:

Now the it's back, we can return to complaining about how it's always rerunning the same things over and over.

I hate to be one pissing on everyones parade, don't get me wrong, I am glad they are bringing back Toonami, but lets be honest here, are you willing to watch crap anime that Adult Swim has spoon-fed us? You guys are only excited for the name alone and nothing else, its really just Adult Swim with old colors restored as it once was, many of your reactions is based on your views with Rose-tinted glasses, I hate to break to you, you will not see Dragon Ball Z, Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo, Outlaw Star, Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, and so on, and so on, because Adult Swim has since then lost most of the rights to play most of your favorite shows.

Besides, most of the shows I mentioned above HAVE a DVD release, and they are all uncensored...yes, you hear me... uncensored, we can hear Hiro say to Relena that he would "Kill her" instead of "Destroy her", or we can watch the 4th episode of Tenchi Muyo...where the jokes actually made a lot more sense.

If you can't afford DVDs and decide not to help and support Japan and there shitty economy, but instead waste all your money building your costumes, getting a hotel room, and paying for a 3 day pass to your favorite con, you can always download it since all the cool kids are doing it anyway.

Ok, I am done ranting here, but to sum it up all, the NEW Toonami is just going to be the same ole Saturday night Adult Swim, with the Toonami name for marquee value.

Good day.

The people who run Adult Swim have )(#/89 for brains if you ask me

They refused to make Korgoth of Barbaria because "it would cost too much". I guess the low quality garbage they are currently producing is better than one God-awesome show. Quantity over quality ftl.

I dont see any reason to get excited, as long as the stuff that they show is dubbed in English and/or censored. Why bother when you can see the real deal on the internet for free or by buying a DVD release, with out commercial breaks or any other inconveniences?
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

Why does everyone have such a problem with this? I understand a bit may be lost in translation, but I personally get completely distracted by subtitles I have to read, and miss the action, leading me to get aggrivated. Plus, at two in the morning on my computer watching something that a friend told me was about zombies but is really about girls with big boobs, I have a hard time keeping awake.

Welcome to the world of people who don't speak English natively :P With practice you'll get used to it. Only when there is a translator's note or two simultaneous lines (characters talking while they watch TV for example), it may be a bit hard to get everything that's happening.

Well, for the most part original voice actors are superioir and they sound like what the director/creator of the show had in his/her mind. There are some examples to this rule like Brian Drummond's Vegeta etc, but I can only think of two animes where I preferred the overall English/foreign dub over the overall Japanese dub (DBZ for bad ass Christopher Sabat and soundtrack and Pokémon for silly childhood nostalgia reasons). Can you imagine watching dubbed Simpsons? I dont natively speak English and I would never watch American cartoons dubbed. Maybe the Disney cartoons that I grew up watching as a kid are an exception that rule, but again, childhood nostalgia and Disney quality (even when it comes to foreign dub voice actors). I'm lucky that not that many shows get dubbed where I live, so children have to get used to reading subtitles if they want to watch cartoons at age 6-7+. Only the really childish kiddystuff gets dubbed, the more rad cartoons have subtitles and original voices 90% of the time.
Many times I've watched whole episodes of anime side by side with the Japanese and the American dub of the same series. Often many things sound very cringeworthy in the American dub, especially things like characters getting mad all of a sudden and starting to yell (happens a lot in anime).

And there is also the lost in translation thing you mentioned. There are scenes and jokes that just dont make sense when translated to English. Every language has its own puns and cultural things that simply can not be translated to a foreign language.

Korgoth is everything you could want in Adult animation. It is like Heavy Metal 2000 if it was super silly instead of serious. But nooooo....Adult Swim thought it would be a waste of money and now we have Tim and Eric shows

Anyway, glad Toonami is coming back. Here is hoping they do it right! But it is still under AS...sooo....not looking good.
