80. Panel De Pon/Tetris Attack

This is without a doubt my favorite puzzle game ever made. It's faster paced than Tetris yet still undeniably a puzzle game without being some sort of action hybrid. On the Super Famicom, it was released as an original title called Panel De Pon! starring adorable fairy lolis. Because most North American boys would scoff at a game with such a feminine estetic, the entire game was reskinned with Yoshi's Island artwork to make it slightly less cute, and the title renamed to "Tetris" Attack even though it has as much to do with Tetris as Mario does with Halo.
The same game would again be rebooted as Pokemon Puzzle League on the N64. This version would be the same basic idea, but also added in a 3D cylinder mode to the mix. The Pokemon branding was again literally skin deep, as under it, it was still just Panel De Pon. It also appeared on the GBC as Pokemon Puzzle Challenge, the GBA as Puzzle League along with Dr. Mario, and eventually on the DS as Planet Puzzle League.
The game's crowning achievement though, comes from its Japanese GameCube release in Nintendo Puzzle Collection. This collection is are GameCube remakes of three intelligent system puzzlers made for Nintendo: Yoshi's Cookie, Dr. Mario, and of course, Panel De Pon. One of the coolest features of the game is its GBA link cable stuff. by connecting a GBA to it, you can download the NES versions of Dr. Mario and Yoshi's Cookie to the temporary memory of the GBA. For Panel De Pon, you can download the single player of the SFC original!

Long time Smash Bros. fans might recognize the staff that the main character holds in her hand - It's the item Lip's stick in the Smash Bros. games.
