Oh man, I had blocked that--thing from my mind completely until reading this. I liked the character design, but no single character has ever been more annoying to me in a video game:
'Could you stop blinking and making that obnoxious sound, I know you want to tell me about the new dousing thing, but I really don't care. I understood it the first five times. I know my wiimote batteries are dying, Fi, you don't have to remind me every time I change areas, there's a red battery icon in the corner of the screen that won't let me forget it. Shut up, Fi! I want to figure it out on my own, and it's not that difficult a puzzle to begin with. Screw it! I hate you, and I hate this game! I'm going back to the Saturn, damnit!'
Okay, seriously, the bolded part here, it gets brought up a lot, but when on earth did this happen?
I played through the entire game, and only had her interrupt me to give me an obvious clue ONCE, in the desert to unlock the entrance to the third dungeon. Never before then, never again afterward.

Yeah, that's fair. I'll concede that that particular part she doesn't do too often, but with all the times she interrupts the gameplay to bring up some asinine observation, or warn me about my wiimote dying (I have rechargeable batteries, so this was particularly infuriating) even once is just too much.

That's a very good question. I've never understood it myself. I will admit it does get a little old when you are low on health and Fi feels need the need to remind you to collect more hearts, but otherwise I felt the same about Fi as I did with Navi, Tatl, and Midna: Indifferent.
Anyway, let me nominate a character (assuming no one has beaten me to the punch): Anise from Tales of the Abyss. God I hate that little girl with such a passion jsadkf;jadskfjdskl;afjkl;adsfddfds

Oh god, Anise from Tales of the Abyss. I'm finally not the only one who hated her. I felt like she brought nothing to the game, (granted, I haven't finished the game but I'm close enough and I know why she is like she is) but couldn't they have added her as a NPC or something? I never brought her into the party unless I had to.

There are TONS of people who hate Anise. In fact I would say those that do like her are in the minority, and their reasons for liking her are absolute crap.

Yeah, that could be true but I don't hang around very many Tales fans (since I only got into the series a couple of years ago) and the ones I do don't seem to hate her.
