I swear all of the anti drugs ads that were all over the place in the 80's and 90's just made me more curious as to what all the fuss was about, and as an adult realize that was probably the insidious point, people are easier to control when they are doped up, so they got a head start on my generation.
I became officially and incorrigibly jaded as a teenager when my high school prominently displayed a huge banner that must have cost hundreds of dollars "XXXX High School is a Drug Free Zone!", knowing full well that drugs were bought and sold in and on school property every single day, and my first experience with drugs was not on some random street corner, but in that very building.
