Anything with Michael Cera > anything with Sarah Silverman IMO, although I think it is pretty hard to compare these movies, because the style seems completely different.
oh I think Cera's hilarious. And I thought Scott Pilgrim was entertaining, but there was so much hype about it that I felt really let down.
I never got hyped for Scott Pilgrim, but I still question why everybody and their dog calls it a videogame movie. It really is just references and nods thrown into a large metaphor for dealing with love and the past.
Not to say games aren't present, but it isn't with the same presence as most videogame movies.
Is this really a video game movie, in the traditional sense, either? It's based off of a fictional game and then contains references to real games. Either way, I see no valid comparison to Scott Pilgrim.
I'm hella looking forward to this movie, don't get me wrong. I've loved the last couple of the CGI movies that Walt Disney Animation Studios has done (Bolt, Tangled) and I think that this movie is just set up for a great success.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.
I'm definitely in to see Wreck It Ralph when it hits theaters! I hope it is as funny as the previews make it out to be.
On a side note... I don't think Scott Pilgram was a "true video game movie" per-say.... but at the same I think it represented video games and its culture as good as any "true vide game movie" has done in years. Just look at how bad the resident evils, silent hill, max payne, and others have been. Plus the video game adaptation was really really good! It was by far one of the best beat-em-ups in years!

This. I couldn't get into Scott Pilgrim. I really disliked the acting of the two main characters, which surprised me because I'd loved that kid in Juno. I was also, on an admittedly petty level, really annoyed by video game sound effects thrown into places that seemed to make no sense for them. People tell me the comics are worth it, but I'll need a lot more convincing, I think.
I think it'll be neat if Wreck-It Ralph makes arcade cabinets cool enough again to warrant one in everybody's local pizza joint and/or bowling alley.

Well I saw it over the weekend, luckily my brothers ex gf was taking my 4 year niece so i tagged along. didn't want to look like a creeper going to see a kids movie by myself.
overall it was great, us older gamers will find a lot of humor in the old video game references.
saw it on saturday. great movie, and the video game theme just made it that much sweeter. the amount of fan service is excellently done and very subtle.
Saw the movie over the weekend, and overall was pretty disappointed. I'd love to hear more in-depth thoughts from people who enjoyed it; I'm wondering why exactly I had such a different experience from the majority of viewers.
