What are you playing?
Re: What are you playing?
I too am not the biggest fan of FFIX. I played it, did absolutely everything there was to do, actually collected all the cards in that one, but yeah. It's one of those games I don't think I'll ever play again, I never really get the craving for it and the very few times I've tried I only get like an hour in before I drop it. I'd still put it above all the FF's that came after it easily, but yeah it's probably lower on my list of favorites for me. I hate to say I almost think I'm more of a fan of FFVIII, even though IX -easily- had way better gameplay and everything in that department, but yeah. I don't remember much about the characters/story at all from FFIX.

Re: What are you playing?
I never got the hype for FF9. I definitely enjoyed FF7 and FF8 more. FF 9 is really the only FF game I've played where I had no desire to really do the optional stuff. I just played straight through, beat it and moved on to something else. I didn't hate it, but it felt bland compared to FF 6(3 over here in the states), 7 and 8. FF X restored my love for FF though

I really don't know what my feelings on FF IX are. It's the only one (of the first ten) I've never replayed. I played it when it first came out, which was quite awhile ago, so I can only remember certain things. I remember thinking it was alright, but the weakest of the PS1 games. I've been meaning to give it another shot, but I can't see myself doing that any time soon.

More Final Fantasy XII. This game is tough... I'm grinding a lot since I barely managed to survive the Dreadnought Leviathan at level 12
Re: What are you playing?
Dreadnought aye... sounds like something I'm about to take down in FFII, haha. This game is awesome, more people need to play it.
Re: What are you playing?
Blargh...I started SaGa Frontier, but I just don't seem to have the will to play it. It's an RPG experience that rewards you for not fighting random encounters, but then throws as many of them in your way as it possibly can to dick you over. I remember now why I quit playing: I grinded too much, so the game threw a boss at me that was impossible to kill.
So yeah, I think I'll quit it and move on to something else.

Wait until you play the sequel, Super Scribblenauts. 10x better imo as they improved the controls, add adjectives, and has a larger vocabulary.
This has been my only issue in Scribblenauts. Maybe I'm just not good with the stylus.

Re: What are you playing?
Well, I'm trying some casual stuff today. I'm playing Angry Birds and Torchwood: Web of Lies, which is a supplement to the new tv season that just started
I'm digging Alan Wake. It's creepy as hell. I walked into a building, played something on a tv or radio that was in there, turned around and for just a quick second saw a silhouette go by the window. I walked aside, no one there. Very cool. That was a very subtle way to creep out a player because it wasn't something the game tried to focus my attention on. I just happened to notice it. If I had blinked, I would have missed it

Re: What are you playing?
Ooh I have been curious about Alan Wake. Really don't know much about it, but I love creepy games that handle their fear factor well. Is it very Silent Hill like? Or more subtle all around?
As for FF9, I can see why people complain about it but I still enjoy it. The card system to me is kinda boring, I am not so interested in getting every card like I was in FF8. It just doesn't seem rewarding enough in 9. The story also takes awhile to pick up, and the characters don't show many especially unique characteristics; rather, they fulfill their roles (the dutiful princess, the loyal knight, etc). But I am still digging it for what it does bring from both 7 and 8. 10 is better IMO, but I am still hooked nonetheless. I even finished all the lengthy chocobo stuff. Emphasis on LENGTHY!
Also finishing playing 999 on the DS, and Mother 3. In love with both.
