@Xeogred, running the PC versions in a high resolution manages to not lose any of its charm in my book, even with the grain turned off. If anything, it gives you a REALLY great look at the graphics.

Higher video quality only enhances the Silent Hill games. Half of the fun is just looking at the environments.

Just to have it on console for the sake of convenience I guess. Plus, Silent Hill 2 at least has a few sound errors in windows XP and getting the game to do 16:9 is a bit involved (though it looks AWESOME when you get it done).

For comparison, here's a screenshot of the PC version running on my PC.

It's running on 1024 X 768 resolution. It still looks amazing although not as amazing as AppleQueso's pic.

edit: and that pic I made is a cut-scene using the in-game graphics. Not cut-scene graphics.

Go for it. The only problem with them is getting them to run on newer systems...

Not that that should stop you...

Silent Hill 3 seems to run just fine in Windows XP. Silent Hill 2 has some sound errors if you have a dual core processor.

Both need some tweaks to run in resolutions higher than 1024x768 (Silent Hill 2 requires you to hex edit the .exe), but it's totally worth it to do if you ask me.

The Xbox games won't look too shabby with your component cables. I don't think SH3 made it to Xbox though.

Can't you make most/all xbox games run in 720p via homebrew and whatnot?

Well there's options for 480, 720, and 1080 when you've got component cables hooked up, which didn't even cost me more than $10. Made a huge difference to me.

I don't know about 4, but 2 has an additional scenario. I think it's included in other releases of the game though, maybe the PS2 Greatest Hits version or something.

Besides the graphics being a little better, 4 is the same on xbox AFAIK.
