Its in black and white, but it still reads really well. All you have to do is attach it to a pc, add an images folder, then drop in folders of jpgs. Then when disconnect it you hit ALT-Z (I think) and it will refresh the menu with your comic selections. Some comics read right, some you cant read at all. Most manga is properly formatted (or can be via Mangle). It takes some getting use to, but once you do it is beautiful. On the converse, if you bought those Marvel collections that were dvds of pdfs, they are straight transfers - but are harder to read.

I love comics, I just dont have the time to be careful with them most days.

I recently got back into reading/collecting comics a few months ago. The last time I ventured into a comic book store was about 20 years ago (yes, I know I'm old!).

I have always been a fan of the single monthlies and that's what I buy (mostly). I think there is a certain charm to reading them as they are released, the weekly trip to the comic shop, looking for a back issue that you are missing (if you collect them anyways), and the feel and smell of the pages. I suggest you try some this way.

That said, I have been thinking about picking up some TPBs to catch up on some of the stories that I have missed over the years, it just makes sense to do it that way.

I am a big Batman fan and thats pretty much what I buy now. There is a laundry list of bat-books now-a-days. I tried to get back into X-Men and Spiderman again and I am just not feeling it anymore.

Anyways, as far as my suggestions go...

Chew is absolutely fantastic. There are 3 TPB's out right now and I think the singles are at around issue 18 so it's not too hard to catch up, and I recommend starting at #1 (TPB is going to be the cheapest way as the early back issues are pricey!).

The Walking Dead is really good as well. You can buy the big Hardcover, the small TPB's or you can pick up the Walking Dead Weeklys that reprint from #1 on a weekly basis. The current issue is at #12, so thats easy as well. The regular series is at #82 or #83 now so there's a bunch of catching up to do there.

I like all the Bat Books and buy a bunch every week so try those on for size and see which you like. There are plenty of TPBs and HCs out there reprinting multi-issue storylines and originals. My favorites are: Son of the Demon, The Killing Joke, The Dark Knight Returns, Year One, Arkham Asylum, Cacophony, The Widening Gyre, and my next one is going to be All-Star Batman and Robin.

Morning Glories is supposed to be a good series as well and the first TPB just got released. I may check this one out next.

Just picked this up. Pretty interesting. (In case no one mentioned Luthor yet.)

Ruse is getting a relaunch. Though it lacks the punch and pulchritude it originally did when Butch Guice was penciling the pages. If anyone missed seeing Partington's favorite son the first time around, this is as good as any time to get your hands on another Victorian mystery with hints of steampunk and sorcery.
My scheduling skills have died of dysentery; I hope to visit at least on a monthly basis.
Still, don't forget to tip your waitress.

My first thought was actually to question which one would be Batman. It would be the hottest Dark Knight story ever.

Well, there's always BatWOMAN. I hear she's into the ladies....

EDIT:But in all seriousness, it's Bryan Cranston from Breaking Bad as James Gordon and Ben McKenzie from Southland and The OC as Batman
