The 6 pack is legit. Apparently SNK cleared out left over stock when the system went under that way. It's a great way to get games for the system if you dont mind the lack of boxes and manuals. I got 2 different 4 packs of NGPC games that way, they all work great.StuntDouble wrote:Thanks to all of you, I had to go check out NGPC's on Ebay, and was surprised to find they are pretty reasonably priced. Couple of questions though, were there a lot of counterfeit versions released? I found one auction that had the system in a clamshell package with 6 games, and it just looks a bit off. Was there a rechargeable battery pack offered for the NGPC? I only ask because that's the main thing that kept me from getting a GBA. I guess I've been spoiled by the PSP and DS.

Re: I Love My Neo-Geo Pocket Color!
I've been in the continual process of frontlight modding mine. I've wasted 2 GBA SP screens so far. (The second one was fine except for a big long crack going through it)
It's very easy to break off the solder points on the light screen, so anybody attempting to do this as well be careful of that. Also don't in any case touch or drop the light screen, take it out when you need to transfer it, not beforehand. If the lightscreen weren't so fragile this would be one of the easier mods to do. I plan to try again tonight, 3rd times the charm after all.
Also, when doing this mod you don't have to deal with the few lost lines on the bottom of the screen if you cut out the bottom part behind the screen as well, it makes it harder to align, but, you can always use electrical tape to tape it all in place so it's not a huge deal.

The 6 games in clamshells were offered at the end of the NGPC's lifespan. Two of those games: Last Blade and Faselei! came to the US only in those clamshells. So there's no US box and manual for themStuntDouble wrote:Thanks to all of you, I had to go check out NGPC's on Ebay, and was surprised to find they are pretty reasonably priced. I don't know if there was a rechargeable battery pack available for the NGPC. But if you want a GBA with rechargeable battery pack, you can get the GBASP.Was there a rechargeable battery pack offered for the NGPC? NYKO offered various battery packs, including a strange puck-shaped one.StuntDouble wrote:Was there a rechargeable battery pack offered for the NGPC? I only ask because that's the main thing that kept me from getting a GBA. I guess I've been spoiled by the PSP and DS.
I'd personally use rechargeable AA batteries.

I've been playing CFC lately and got my sister's BF into it. He sucks balls though. He has good cards but refuses to put them in his deck.
On a sidenote, I can't wait to get the flash cart so I can play CFC2 in english.

That's one of the things that I love about it is how good the batter life is, maybe too good? I feel they could have added a back-light and still had at least half of the original battery life which would of been excellent, not to mention a very good entry price and a good line up of games, makes you wonder what might have happened if it had lasted a little longer.pakopako wrote:NYKO offered various battery packs, including a strange puck-shaped one.StuntDouble wrote:Was there a rechargeable battery pack offered for the NGPC? I created some Perler Bead pixel artworks from SNK vs Capcom on the NGPC.
Chun Li, Ryu, and Sakura.

Yesterday I created Iori, and I'm currently working on Terry. Next will be Kyo!

What do you guys use to clean your NGPC games? I've gone the standard rubbing alcohol / q-tip route - although it is challenging given the cartridge size. Didn't have a tool to take the cart apart (admittedly, i tried my Nintendo 3.8 one and anything regular in ones garage) either.
