Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Now that I have a car and some vacation time I can use, gotta brainstorm something fun I could actually go out and do. :D

Anyone know of any fun events around Texas coming up in the next several months? Conventions, etc?

Hmm, not sure about that one. Not really into competitive multiplayer gaming in general, and I'd like to find something that me and my girlfriend might be able to both enjoy.

If I were a sports fan, that'd be a no brainer. Alas...

I'm sure I'll think of something

So...The Papa John's racist rant.

Complaining about a five dollar tip? That's probably worse than using a racial slur.

I had friends in college who delivered pizza to pay the bills, and the average tip was two bucks and change.

I don't tip deliveries on a percentage of the total, only on the service. It's not like when a restaurant where you are paying for food, tailored service, and an experience. Whether the pizza delivery guy delivers five pizzas or one, he's coming to your house either way. Why should the delivery guy get more money for holding an extra pizza or two? I'm already paying a delivery charge, and for those who say "that money doesn't go to us", say something to your manager.

Delivery charges are a deterrent to a better tip. When I see one on my bill my first thought is "Well, that goes out of the tip". Why not just hide that fee in the cost of the pizza? The message the delivery charge sends is "You paid a mandatory tip" and it makes me want to tip less.

Unfortunately, drivers don't see that delivery charge. It's basically a company screwing you and the driver both. Fucked the hell up, and I don't order delivery from any company that has a delivery charge.

Exactly. That's why the companies should work the delivery charge into the price of the pizza and claim "free delivery" like they did in the days of yore.

Haven't ordered from a chain in a long time, but even the local joints are charging a delivery fee (plus a $15 minimum order). And that is why I carry out.
