Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I'm about 15 hours into far cry 3, oh my god this game is legendary. One of my favorite games of all time and I'm not even finished with it. But then I got to thinking what if the far cry 3 team was able to make a licensed Jurassic park game? Instant greatest game of all time! It's sad the last great JP game was on the genesis. Trespasser was ok but it could of been so much more.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
#1. I'm loving this 3DS XL. I'm not sure what makes the experience so different to me, since the original DS, while good, never really caused me to get immersed or anything of that sort.
I have a feeling it has to do with the large screens and more traditional control this time around. The circle pad feels great, though the device is still a bit thin for me to play comfortably for more than a half hour at a time without some form of adjustment.
The graphics are good enough detail wise. The displays are pretty low resolution so there is a decent amount of aliasing, which only bothers me a little bit. It's worse in some games than others (RE:Revelations looks great, Super Mario 3D looks a bit rough).
I'm trying to embrace handheld gaming, seeing as I'll soon be in a cramped dorm and probably much more active than I am currently. Both of those things seem like it would make it hard to enjoy a large home console collection. Plus the added fear of theft. Much easier to keep a 3DS and Vita out of view than a WiiU and PS3. Plus games are much cheaper on handhelds.
#2. I wasted the majority of yesterday playing CS:GO in competitive mode and I have the urge to do the same today. Hopefully it doesn't result in Tribes syndrome where I wont want to play it ever again in a month or so.

I noticed something weird with my copy of FFIX I just bought off the SE website. You know how PS1 discs are black? Well, all three discs of FFIX are silver, like any other CDs. I guess Sony stopped making the black discs at some point? I didn't expect this, since the copy of Chrono Cross I bought two or so years ago came on black discs.

Hmmm. That is odd.BoringSupreez wrote:I noticed something weird with my copy of FFIX I just bought off the SE website. You know how PS1 discs are black? I'm trying to think if any of my late release PS1 games are on silver discs but none come to mind. I'm pretty sure even the GTA collection were on black discs.

I find it pretty amazing that SE still keeps those games in print.
Why not FF7, though? Some issues with Sony being the publisher of that one I guess?

I've talked about this before, but in my head way more PS1 games should still be in print considering PS2 and PS3 have both been backwards compatible.AppleQueso wrote:I find it pretty amazing that SE still keeps those games in print.

You'll be especially confused when you finish disc 3 and see "Insert Disc 4"BoringSupreez wrote: Well, all three discs of FFIX

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Yeah you can still get sealed Greatest Hits copies of Final Fantasy IX, Anthology, Chronicles, and Chrono Cross for around $16 each. Pretty crazy. How many PS2 RPGs can you even say that about?

Shhh! I still need many of those. If you start telling everyone that there's still JRPGs out there for cheap, I'll never get them!BoneSnapDeez wrote:Yeah you can still get sealed Greatest Hits copies of Final Fantasy IX, Anthology, Chronicles, and Chrono Cross for around $16 each.
