I'm gonna ask a dumb question here, so please forgive my ignorance:

What's the difference between an "anime" and an "OVA"?

An OVA is a form of anime. It stands for "Original Video Animation". Pretty much it's a label for anime not featured on TV or in theaters, think of it as direct to video.

Original Video Animations are pretty much like direct to dvd releases or thats how wiki describes it.

The way I would describe OVAs at least as I have experienced them is usually they are side stories that get released as kind of bonus content. Like with Sword Art Online they released little parody news shorts with the DVDs.

Edit: Dylan beat me to it.

Okay. Thanks for clearing that up.

Sometimes you will see OAV instead of OVA, though OVA is more common. In the 80s and 90s it was a great business model because on-line distribution wasn't really big. People would spend decent money on VHS or DVD releases of material that was often either meant to be paired with some other property like a toy or a game OR was experimental. In the latter case, the OVA was designed to make enough money in sales to have been worth producing, but was also used to test the market to see if there was broader potential for the property. The late Pioneer Animation studio did that a lot. Tenchi Muyo and El Hazard started as original OVA properties and were eventually turned into TV series, and in the case of the former, a few movies.

Just finished Gundam Seed Destiny and I'm slightly disappointed. It was a decent ending but I was really hoping to have some of the character relationships tied up. Was especially disappointed at how Cagali hardly got any screen time at the end and there wasn't really any conclusion to the Cagali-Athrun relationship.

Went ahead and watched the Final-plus episode. Liked the extra 10 minutes or so at the end which smoothed things out a bit, but at the same time I was left somewhat confused by their decision to insert characters that weren't there before into some of the final episode scenes(Athrun wth are you doing there lol).

Overall the main conflict was wrapped up, but I was left wanting a little bit more from the characters. Most notably Shinn, Cagali, and Lacsus. Would have definitely benefited from an "Afterwards" episode. It's to bad there isn't a direct sequel for this show deinately wasn't as impressed with Destiny as I was with the first season however I wouldn't have minded the universe being expanded more with a third season :P.

P.S. sorry if I mispelled any names :P. Also does anyone know where I can find streams for Gundam Wing?

At first I figured you meant a Japanese release but woah, I checked Amazon for kicks and there it is being released tomorrow. Is this the very first Patlabor production? I know production order for that franchise is kind of weird and an OVA came before the TV series, I really want to get into it though.
