^Well, the newer SW's were made for kids, so there you go.

How a kid could stay awake during Clones is crazy nuts. Bright lights and such may be the answer.

Mike, how did your kids react to Yoda's death? I would imagine kids would take it a lot harder after watching the prequels first.

Funny, we did the same thing over the past 3 weekends. We started w/episode 1 and then watched them in order.

I am sad to report 3 things:
-The enjoyed the first 3 more than the original 3 we all grew up with - and they were relatively bored with the last 3 :/
-They commented how fake the ewok costumes in RotJ looked. (they were right :/ )
-They (10yo, 7yo, 5yo, 3yo) all liked Jar Jar Binks.

I don't know if this is sad, but the oldest 3 also commented how the light saber battles were significantly better in the first 3 (new) movies.

Something I noticed and don't recall thinking at all as a child. Carri Fisher is not attractive, nor a good actress.

That's sort of why we started with episode 4 plus they don't know how Luke and Vader are related yet. So, I want to see how they will react to that. They are 5 and 7. The 2 year comes in the room anytime he hears Chewie and yells back at him in his own sort of impression.

Actually, they took it well, my 7yo commented that it was cool he'd now be resurrected as a spirit like Obi Wan.

The only tears were from my 10yo when Anakin has his mask taken off and says his final words.

The only real consistency to my childhood was the excitement of the trash compactor scene - they had the same reactions I recall, just sorta mesmerized and shouting at the screen. My daughter (the extremely logical one) said that if Han is able to pick up that steal beam by himself and hold it over his head, there is no way it is stopping those hydraulic walls.

@bone - the burbs w/Tom Hanks? I didn't even recall she was in that? It's been awhile though.

Knew that joke was coming.
It's not a joke, inexperienced girls turn me off and I consider it a negative.
Well, for me, its a thing I've mulled over before. When it comes to the first time, I'd rather it be with someone just as inexperienced, or someone I really care for. Past that, I don't care about the number of previous partners or something like that. I think it would be hypocritical to question the number of partners someone has had if you've EVER had sex.

Gotta love Jaboody dubs. The Billy Mays ads he did are fantastic.

Also, Goose Island 312: What type of beer is it? We sell it at the Trader Joe's I moonlight at. I've been wanting to try it, but am curious to your opinion of it and what you'd classify it as. I'd rather hear from a fan rather than beer advocate.

Trader Joe's sells a commercial beer? That's quite out of the ordinary isn't it (or is it?)? Consider yourself a lucky duck, er, goose.

312 is an "urban wheat ale" which tastes like a Hefeweizen that provides full flavor. Not too heavy, not too light and in a beautiful golden tone that provides a refreshing and crisp aftertaste. This isn't a hefe you garnish as it provides the flavor itself.

It reminds me of something HaufBrau House (Munchen) would serve, as although it is a tad lighter in color it still has a taste that will tickle the palette.

Keep in mind that I also have a bit of an emotional connection to this beer as I do with Caramel Bullseye's and rock candy, but I would bet I could pick out 312 in a hefe taste test.

If you try it out, let me know what you think/thought of it.

Cheers!

I really dislike complaining about the weather, but we are getting hammered again and school will no doubt be canceled. We already have to make up 2 days, so instead of getting done on a Wednesday, the kids go until a Friday.

If school is canceled tomorrow (and man, it looks that way), then they'll have to go on a Saturday, or school will extend into the 3rd Monday of June! Not cool.
