not a lot. But those caught my eye being Sat/DC games and all. Similarly, I've heard there's Magic Knight Rayearth ones.

But I mean, some stuff I like. When I was in high school I had any VHS anime I could find -- Akira, Devil Man, etc. And I've seen some of the ones Disney brought over like Princess Mononoke and stuff like that. And I also have like probably four or five of the Street Fighter animes.

I guess I enjoy the artstyle a lot, but it's such a big thing to look into and I don't really spend much time watching things anyway. So I just sort of check out things here or there.

Yeah season 1 of Rayearth is pretty decent. I played the Super Famicom game before I knew about the anime. In fact, the game is what prompted me to check out anime in the first place.

I'm a pretty "casual" anime fan myself - I have a very small collection and have mostly watched only the "popular" series.

^Well thanks to the changing demographics since the anime-bubble in 2002, pretty much anything beyond Naruto/Bleach is hardcore.

I thought the movie was pretty good. Nothing life changing, but I liked it. The OVA series expands on the story rather than adapts it, which I think makes them worth watching too.

I'll just warn you to stay far away from the TV series. It's complete garbage. The story stinks, the animation is the pits, and all the characters are all extra-hatable for some reason. I don't know what the story is with that, since it's by Madhouse which I normally associate with quality. But SOMETHING WENT VERY WRONG.

Watched some anime over the weekend with friends. Mostly current. But some a few years old.

Shingeki no Kyojin continues to be great. Hataraku Maou-sama is also great. Gargantia is decent. Will watch a few more episodes at least.

OreImo2 doesn't disappoint. Date A Live is surprisingly enjoyable so far.

Katanagatari is also being re-aired this season. That is a show I'd recommend to anyone and everyone.

Trying to finish up Moretsu Pirates. 4 episodes to go. Fun series. Marika is great! And then I also watched 5 episodes of the Ika Musume dub with friends. I certainly prefer the Japanese, but the English dub is so riddled with puns in addition to the subpar voice acting that it is pretty enjoyable.
My B/S/T thread! :)

I loved the Squid Girl dub too. Preferred it, actually...the English actors really knew how to deliver a joke.

The Rayearth TV series had a great first half. Basically, it covers the course of the game. The second half was a chore to get through. The OVA is pretty good, too. I've got some strong nostalgia glasses on when I watch that, though, as it was one of the earlier VHS bootlegs that I watched

I love the idea of Rayearth and how it is exactly like an RPG, but the anime is too long for my tastes. Could not finish. I really want to check out the manga sometime since it is only 6 volumes. Should be a lot more enjoyable without filler.

I bought the box set of this series when anime was expensive and really hard to get a hold of. I plunked down $200 bucks when I was a kid. Worst investment ever. It was nothing like the Saturn game (reason for buying it, because the Saturn game was so good) and was boring as all get out.

I liked both halves of the Magic Knight Rayearth anime, but they're both way longer than necessary. I'd say that it would work better as a 26 episodes series... but honestly, I think it could probably fit into a 13 episode show without losing anything too important.
