You called? You wanna hear me rant a bit?
This is why people like me hate Call of Duty. The game itself may be a decent FPS, but there is much more to it than that. Releasing the game every year with minor changes, DLC up the ass, season pass for DLC to trick you into believing that you got it for cheap, and online pass too. And the game itself looks so ugly! This game is a shining example of everything that is wrong with today's game industry.
It's so obvious that Call of Duty is nothing more than a gray and brown dildo-shaped tool that Activision uses to rape their customers as much as possible. However, despite being one of the most harmful game series to the games industry, it sells more than anything else. These casual gamers have no idea the amount of harm they are doing when they play Call of Duty.
Fuck CoD, fuck Activision and fuck Gamestop. And one last fuck goes out to all the uninformed casual gamers who support all of this bullshit.

Example: I have a friend that has no job and yet "sacrificed" to go pick up his $60 + tax copy of Modern Warfare 3. Edit: and of course he bought it on pre-order from our favorite game store, Gamestop.
y'know I'm not a fan of COD or any of those FPS games. But I do think it's lousy to get all high and mighty about other gamers because of their taste. If someone is into FPS's exclusively, good for them. They're playing what they want to play. I know a guy who got a 360 and all he plays is Madden. But hey, he works hard, comes home and plays what he wants. Why shit on him?

Thank you for this well reasoned post. +1 internet 4 u
I don't really shit on people for liking a game but, I do shit on a game if I think there are fundamental flaws with it, like CoD. I wouldn't ever condemn somebody for playing it though. The only games I'd ever get mad at somebody playing would be Pay-To-Win games.

The article linked in the other Thread missed the main point of the hate of a $60.00 game. An oversaturation of annual installments and even worse, the annual DLC membership fee from Gamestop and Activision for an additional 50 dollars.
Just what is held back from a disc release to profit from DLCs?
I will be upset at anyone who supports things like DLC, horrible DRM methods, online pass, pay to win games, etc. Basically anything that does harm to video games and gamers. I want everything to improve, not get worse.

I agree with all this, but ultimately my biggest beef with the series is its glorification of violence, imperialism, and militarism. The fact that garbage like this can sell millions of copies is a sad (yet unsurprising) reflection of American society and values. Games like this can only exist within a culture that has little respect for human life and well-being.

I support DLC and online pass for buying new.

I feel the same way. It's sad that shit like this is so popular.

Really? Its only a game, an escape just like watching an action or horror movie.

You don't think games (or music, film, or art) are politically neutral, do you?
