I won't ramble, but you can google the guys running this site.

...no.
I must be googling wrong. Can't find anything about him or the store. As I say though, the ludicrous prices and general dirth of titles on there wouldn't tempt me anyway.

It's a rebrand. They are formally neooldstore.com / facebook. They make and sell conversions of AES. Bootleggers.

I was only really interested in their pocket stuff but if they are making fakes for those then it makes the prices even more hilarious...especially as all they have is very common Japanese stuff.

Evidently they are buying games off of eBay and flipping them as well. Tread carefully if you decide to buy from them.

The selection is so poor and the prices so high that I don't see why anybody would even be tempted.

Did prices climb northward since the April update? I'm not seeing those value ranges on stuff that's closing on ebay unless I missed something.

I'm a proud new owner of a 2 slot SNK MVS Neo Geo cabinet with a stack of 9 legit and 1 161in1 bootleg cart. The cabinet/monitor are borderline like new quality/condition probably since the previous owner cared well for it and had a buddy who serviced/worked on cabinets and got it nice and fresh recently inside and out.

Also picked up Ninja Combat which arrived on Monday, and I have 4 more titles outstanding coming from outside the country. I've got a bundle of Mutation Nation, World Heroes and Spin Master coming from one, and League Bowling from another.

Congrats! I haven't gotten my hands on Mutation Nation yet but it's on my list.

And yes, unfortunately you missed one important thing on Mike's list - it's intended to be a guide for forum prices primarily, ebay is basically always gonna be higher. You can get lucky occasionally, but more often than not you're gonna pay significantly more on ebay for Neo just like you will with any system.

Well then I need to find a forum where people sell MVS, as so far I've just seen AES and NGPC which is unfortunate. KLOV had one game I wanted, but I did in fact bag it for less on ebay from an aussie about 12 hours ago and it has already been shipped. I know of the neo-geo.com forums but they seem wholly unfriendly unless you're established which seems snooty to me and the neogeoforlife forum is bare. I didn't think MVS hunting would be all that hard, and it's not, if you want to pay more on ebay but I like to try and avoid that much like I'm avoiding neostore for their 20% or so markup.

KLOV (occasionally) and Neo-Geo are the main 2 that I know of. ArcadeOtaku occasionally, but their userbase is mostly European so shipping's gonna bump it up. NG has its flaws, and is kinda intimidating at first, but it's really not too hard to integrate as long as you don't make a beeline for the forums. Here, occasionally.

mjmjr25 can also recommend a few websites (Excellentcom, Sophitia) that you can buy from JP and Chinese ops directly, but with that the trick is that shipping is again going to be prohibitive for 1 or 2 games, which is part of why he occasionally organizes group buys.

Finally, Yahoo Japan's auctions work but you need to get a service to act as an intermediary for it since they typically don't ship out here - I have never done it myself, but I know plenty of arcade people swear by it.

And then there's just lucking into right place at right time things on facebook groups or what have you, or finding forums with members in or around Tokyo that can get things from some of Akihabara's shops and send em over... I know there's been people on here that have offered the service before.

Edit: Though looking at eBay right now, coinopstore has some good deals up. I don't recognize the seller as someone to avoid, and he's showing board pics and they're original (labels sometimes aren't, but I for one don't care)

Lucking into it is how I got all six Metal Slug games for MVS for $115 a year ago. All legit PCBs, too, and I think only one of the labels were new.
