Video Game "Look what I found"
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Part of the advantage of the Finds of the Day is discovering and sharing information and background stories of ANY game related item. a one stop source for seeing fresh posts of games old and new. Who is to say what is a valuable item in terms of cost or rarity, everyone has a different taste.
I could have just posted a boring list and prices that have no meaning. I think adding a story that has some meat and potatoes in it is worthwhile. Yes I do post in a blog style review with pics, anything less would be a disservice. Really, how many here even know the significance of the Zircon controller relation to the Channel F or the trivia such as it superseding the 2600 as the first cart based console. Good God enjoy the ride, instead of shooting it down.
That said, maybe see what others think? I'll post a style in whatever the Mods and Members limit me to. I hope that my posts help these Forums, not hinder. No, I will not post to a Blog Site, My heart is here on Racketboy.

That would be a duplicate of the "Games acquired" thread.Opa Opa wrote:How about a "What was your last video game-related purchase?" thread?

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
late to the party, but i 100% agree with dsheinem. for the most part i just stopped reading this thread because i don't care to read that somebody scored some random original xbox game in mint condition for 5 bucks or scored some common as dirt nes games for 3 bucks a piece.
i have committed posting one or two times in this thread about games i purchased that weren't considered "finds." but, i have stopped and everybody else should too.
i want to actually want to read about something that makes me say, "WOW! you lucky SOB!"

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Again, you didn't read what was posted. Posting about a game that is available at thousands of stores for the same price you bought it is not a find of the day. If you want to bring light to something you bought that you think doesn't get enough love, great. Post a review in the review section. If you want to post about everything you buy and not make a blog elsewhere, create your own blog thread here on the forum.CRTGAMER wrote:Part of the advantage of the Finds of the Day is discovering and sharing information and background stories of ANY game related item. a one stop source for seeing fresh posts of games old and new. That's exactly the kind of games I want to see here...final fight cd wrote:I don't care to read that somebody scored some random original xbox game in mint condition for 5 bucks or scored some common as dirt nes games for 3 bucks a piece.
As long as it's not a regular game you paid full price for I consider it a find...
It doesn't have to be an ultra rare purple and pink NES glove to fit in this thread as far as I'm concerned...

I don't mind seeing the everyday finds here. I read through the new posts everyday, but maybe we need a rare find or a "steal" thread. Unusual items, and ridiculous deals would belong there.

that is why this thread was originally created, hence, the name "finds of the day." there are other threads for members to post their current everyday buys.TheClassicVideoGamer wrote:I don't mind seeing the everyday finds here. Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
I some what agree with what CRT is saying. Usually when I post some purchase of mine in this thread, it comes with a picture and/or a story. That's what I like seeing the most when I read this thread, whether it's a nice "find" or just a standard purchase.
However, I'll agree on the other side as well. Posting how you picked up a standard purchase just isn't what this thread should be about.
The "game acquired" thread, I've never actually read to be honest, but I don't imagine it being the same. I picture it being mundane, just listing purchases. This thread usually comes with a story or information which leads to nice discussion. Not just by CRT, but by me and other members as well.
I don't know, I guess I didn't really give a definition to what I think this thread should be about. I guess what I'm trying to say is, it doesn't so much matter what your purchase was, per se, as much as the story behind it. Or, of course, if it's a rare or obscure find.
And honestly, I don't like when I come into this thread and just see posts that lists games bought with prices. That's boring. But when I come in here and there's a post with pics and/or a story about the purchase, that's what I like to read.
Maybe if this thread is gonna turn into a strict "Finds of the Day" then we should have another thread to post your more standard purchases that come with a story or information. I guess like the suggested CRT blog, only for every one. I don't bother posting in the games acquired thread, how I bought the new Kirby for $50 or whatever. I pretty much only post my finds, or when the purchase comes with a story or information. Or keep this thread the way it is, and make a new, strict "Finds" thread.
