I LOVE it, but I also love my 3.5" floppy disc copy of Golden Axe, so keep that in mind. Golden Axe was MY game when I was growing up. At the arcade, at the IBM PS/1, or at the Genesis, I played that game daily.

I'll admit I'm the constant head butting dwarf, but I still get a smile when I beat the game and see tons of A+++ses (or is that A plusesses?).

Golden Axe on the go is a great twenty minutes spent.

The shame! We all know that the Valkyrie is the only honest character in the whole game!

Seriously though, Golden Axe is good times, and I love the music.

Not sure if you would love the IBM music, but yeah...pretty awesome soundtrack.

LOVE the baseball smack credits as much as the opening theme.

If it's anything like the C64 then yes, he would love it. IMO.

One thing I love about Sega is that they always allowed their games to be ported to various computer platforms. Not to mention the fact that they eventually ported many of their own Genesis games to the Master System and Game Gear. Too bad Nintendo never did something like that - imagine playing Super Mario World on the NES, Game Boy, or Commodore 64.

I'll vouch for the awesomeness of Golden Axe on the PC. I got it off a BBS or maybe one of those AOL software libraries. I also have the PC version of Outrun, which doesn't have the Adlib sound that GA does.

So Final Fight One on the GBA is good then?

The SID sound chip is the king of chiptunes. 1980s PC games mostly had bleeps and bloops. 1980s PCs couldn't compete with Commodore, Atari etc computers in the sound nor graphics department. It wasn't untill CDs and 3D games came before PC surpassed other computer platforms and consoles.
