Damn them and I bought it because I thought I was getting a deal and it is even cheaper over on Amazon. Why would they do this? They are identical also. Oh well, not so bad when you toss in the buy 2 get one free coupon. But still!!

Did you look online to see if your copy is different?

I could be wrong.

SNKnicotine did bring up that his wii copy of One Piece was a little different. On the disc itself. That one is getting reissued.

We still need more evidence.

I think some times, but not all the time; a Digital re-release can drive up the price of the physical item, because the first time digital user might just want to really own it because they liked it so much. I have seen that from time to time.
It did actually dip for a while leading up to it, precisely because a lot of people assumed it'd go down and started dumping off their copies.

Then the digital version actually came out and everything climbed right back up of course though.

I had a beat copy of it and they are identical sadly. At least as best I can tell. Even the ad on the back of the manual is the same LOL. It is a re-issue, has to be. All the evidence is there. Oddly, the girl at the Gamestop said, "wow, this looks like it is new!!" My fault for not doing my homework. I just wish they would stamp it as re-print. Since their is a hobby involving valuable collectibles. Imagine having identical copies of Superman #1 being reprinted and sold as originals!! This is a lesser value but still detracts as it kills value for the game. I do not collect for value, but still hate to see it when people forked over a few bucks to see them get hit in the ass like this.

Yea, it was reprinted. Sealed copies were going for around $100 with very few sales up until about a month or two ago when eBay and Amazon sellers started showing up with lots of copies at $40. There seems to be tons more available and prices have dropped under $20 for a new copy.

Edit: I also snagged a sealed copy of Speed Zone for the Wii. It seemed to receive a pretty small print run.

Started browsing this thread today since I've been wanting to pick up some of the Wii library, of which my collection is drastically lacking. I decided to go over to Gamestop after finding a few games that were evidently in stock in store and was just further reminded that Gamestop gives 0 shits about the Wii stock anymore (understandably so). Like 2/10 of the games were on the actually "wii section" and so I had to ask for them to check in the drawers behind the counter for the rest. The dude basically looked for 3 of them and sort of gave up on the rest. Anyone else have poor experiences with getting employees to check the drawers for stock? I need to start checking Pawn Shops I guess.

I ended up grabbing (lol):
Endless Ocean
Excitebots (Disc Only)
Data East Arcade (Disc Only)
Geometry Wars

I have a good Gamestop nearby but even so I've had an issue where they were unable to find a disc for the case on 2 different occassions on Wii games. One was Battalion Wars 2 and I think the otner was Bomberman Land (IIRC). Luckily I was able to grab those at a later time.

I didn't want to derail the top 10 Wii games thread with this, so I'll ask here. I saw Bone mentioned Data East Arcade Classics... are there other classic collections on the Wii not available anywhere else? I know the PS2 has some of the collections as well, which I'd probably prefer to get on that in most cases. But definitely curious to know if the Wii has some exclusive ones.

Ultimate Shooting Collection, if you are just looking at U.S. releases. It had an expanded edition released for the Wii in Japan that was later ported to the 360, but those'd be imports.

Light gun games are something to look at on it too. Some of them aren't really on much else AFAIK, like the Gunblade NY and LA Machineguns Arcade Hits Pack. Some are digital-only elsewhere, like the Mad Dog McCree: Gunslinger Pack. While not compilations, I think the only console ports of Ghost Squad and Target: Terror are on the Wii as well.

Target Terror is also a tough one to track down. I had a disc only copy but ended up selling it In hopes I would eventually add a CiB copy. Still on my list.
