Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
okay. we're gonna need pics of this. that's too insane.pvt_awol wrote:Hey all, long time reader, first time poster here.
Thought I'd brag a bit about a couple of things I found on Tuesday of this week. I have this little "rivalry" between myself and another board member here named Mechblue. So whenever I have a chance to score something locally before him, it makes my day. LOL.
Anyway, at a pawn shop in town here I snagged an Atari Jaguar CD attachment, with a few games that actually look like they've never been played (The 4 packin's - Myst Demo, Vid Grid, Blue Lightning, Tempest 2000 soundtrack, Dragon's Lair and Space Ace sealed, and a complete boxed copy of Alien vs Predator) 2 jag controllers and the Jag link cable for $30 bucks.
I asked the guy what else he might have, and wouldn't you know it? He pulls out a mint copy of Pikmin 2. Tells me $10 on that. Then he pulls out a sealed copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day (where the heck did the guy get this stuff?) He tells me $10 on that. I asked him if I took it all, would he do $40? He went $45 for everything. Couldn't believe it. Then he tossed in one of those Legend of Zelda lithographs that came with Phantom Hourglass. Talk about a score.
Suddenly, I don't feel so bad about paying $130 or so for a good copy of Chrono Trigger.

Consider them posted! I'm at work now (um.... not doing work... LOL) but I'll post some pics when I get home. I've been browsing the forums and would love to do pics of my game room as well.
I really think I'm going to come to love this site like a second home. I stumbled upon it when I was looking for a Saturn mod chip and Action Replay cart.

Got LoZ: Ocarina of Time CIB, nice condition (even had the little plastic bag for the cart) for $20. What's really nice about this, is that it was from a store that normally charges $25 for the game cart-only. I am now one step closer to my goal of upgrading my N64 collection to all-boxed.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Picked up one of my best scores all year just now! Some games I was really looking forward to playing, a few decent collectibles and some great trade items. Probably my last good pickup of the year too. Good way to end things!
PS2:
.Hack Vol.1 Rebirth - CIB
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 - CIB
Bard's Tale
Castlevania Lament of Innocence - CIB
Champions of Norath (GH) - CIB
Champions Return to Arms - CIB
Darkwatch - CIB
Devil May Cry 3 - CIB
Dino Stalker - CIB
God of War II - CIB
Gradius V - CIB
Kingdom Hearts II - CIB
Metal Gear Solid 2 - CIB
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - CIB
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence - CIB
Monster Hunter - CIB
Ninja Assualt - CIB
Odin Sphere - CIB
Punisher, The - CIB
Resident Evil 4 - CIB
Rule of Rose - CIB
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus - CIB
Soul Calibur III - CIB
PS:
Fear Effect 2 - CIB
King's Field - CIB
Intelligent Qube - CIB
The guy and his mom had just over 200 PS and PS2 games to sell and I offered to buy the whole lot at a deeply discounted price, but since I was the first to get my grubby hands on them they didnt want to go as low as I was offering. So instead I just pulled out all the goodies. They were selling them on behalf on their brother/son.
They wanted $5 for each game and I ended up paying $100 even for the lot

Damn nice find on MGS3: Subsistence. Nice find altogether, but I've been looking for that one game for a while now.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Hey guys, this is my first "FotD" post. Bit of back story, so shoom down for tl;dr
My mum has a secondhand DS and much to my FRUSTRATION she refuses to buy herself any games. OTOH last christmas she was given Tinkerbells Adventure or something, so I can see why she'd be skeptical of buying new games... So I have been keeping an eye out for titles she might enjoy. This holiday season a toy clearance store opened in our town and I wondered in looking for RC toys. Half-behind the counter there was two tubs filled with Gameboy Color and GBA games and accessories that never sold back in the day. That day (maybe day 4 of the clearance sale) I walked out with a copy of WarioWare Twisted, with a hologram-ish box in near perfect condition for AU$15. I thought, "they need to clear these out by the time the sale ends...!" Today is the last day! I got Pokemon Ruby Red (PERFECT condition) Doctor Mario & Puzzle League and Kurukuru Kururin, with slightly scuffed edges on the box, for AU$5 each! So for AU$30 I feel like I have bulked out Mum's game collection with 4 solid games and hopefully when she is done she can swap them with one of my mates who are collectors!
(Kurukuru kurukin is the Australian edition, which I THINK is most desirable for its english translation, can anyone confirm?)
tl;dr
AU$15 for WarioWare Twisted 2 weeks ago, AU$5 each for Pokemon Ruby Red, Doctor Mario & Puzzle League, and Kurukuru Kururin
All brand spanking new with only light wear on the box-edges
