Just watched Fight Club on TV. Man I forgot how much I liked this movie. I am pretty good at figuring out lamo twists (which most movies seem to have these days), but not with this movie. I did not read the book and still haven't because I am poor and can't afford such things. So the twist was a complete surprise for me. Movie-wise, I think the flick was amazingly done. Pitt and Norton had a great chemistry and the cinematography was very well done. While watching I decided to check out the spoilers section of imdb.com and realized how much I missed until now. So many hints as to what is going on that I feel I should have known exactly what was coming. Perfectly in line with the point of the movie... we get so caught up in stupid things that we miss the most obvious things there are in life... plus when Edward Norton shoots himself in the face and smoke starts coming out of Pitt's mouth, the added smoke ring before his last line is excellent!

Great film.

Part of me is excited at what del Toro will do with The Hobbit. Part of me is afraid it will just turn into a big budget mess.

On a completely different note, I watched "Last House on the Left" the other night (2009 remake). While I generally like horror/thriller stuff, I didn't enjoy this at all.
