Do You Have Any Unpopular Gaming Opinions?

I love seeing how one system or genre stacks up against another in my collection. I find that a lot of the time they don't often mirror my preferences. For example, I have far more PS2 games than any other system. Not because it's my favorite system (heck it's not even my preferred system that generation, XBox is), it just happens to be that I've acquired a TON of cheap PS2 games from GameStop the last couple of years.

I knew about RFG's console graphs, this is how mine stands as of today (Apr 20 2013)


But I didn't know about the genre sort!


I'm not too surprised by the Action/Adventure, because I'm sure there's a lot of platformers and other traditional types of games included there, and I'm sure NOT surprised by "Shooters", that includes shmups, FPS, and third-person type. But Sports (non-racing), wow. I'm a big real-life race fan, but to separate racing from sports really shows how many racing games I have. However, RPGs are a bit low

i fucking hate stratocasters. worst, thinnest, most disgusting guitars ever.

i'm more of a tele guy. i prefer the thicker neck and the warmer tone. strats just sounds so "tinny" to me, even with the right pickups. and i just hate the way they play.

really i'm more of a gibson guy, i guess, but for fenders, i'd rather play a tele or a jaguar.

Unneeded revision sure, but that hardly made it hated by the gaming populace. People were just a bit confused as to why it was needed, but I don't think it's really unpopular as a console. Now if you said the 32X was awesome, people might think you are smoking something

Wasn't hated, but dropping the GBA slot wasn't exactly something people were thrilled about.

DSi was unneeded, DSiXL is the best DS there is. Granted the DS is the best GBA - dpad on the DS trumps the one on the DSlite without a question.

The DS isn't a better GBA than the GBA-SP. The GBA-SP has a better screen. The original DS's screen isn't hard to see in the dark or anything, but it is hard to see in bright sunlight, while my GBA-SP gives me no problems in the bright sunlight. And it's more compact and portable.

I prefer to play my GBA games on the DS phat - mainly because I like my buttons to be on the the left/right of the screen, not below.

I want to like the DS Lite for it's backwards compatibility with GBA games, but using the B and A buttons on it is a real pain in the ass. I was playing Iridion II on my brother's DS Lite earlier this morning and after 5 minutes my thumb started to hurt. I don't get how you guys and gals can play video games with the B and A buttons slanted that far up to the right. Playing GBA games on an SP is way more comfortable for me. Nintendo really should have made a controls option for GBA game playing on the DS Lite (and DS phat for that matter), kinda like with the Super Game Boy.

That being said, I wish DS Lites were still being sold in stores so I could pay 99 bucks for a new one instead of 136 plus tax for a new one online. Which is probably why I will go ahead and buy a DSi for my birthday next month (thankfully I can just hope to the closest Best Buy and grab one there).

-HIGH FUCKING FIVE- I too hate Stratocasters. I've played quite a few of them and I have NEVER played one that I actually liked. Telecasters however...I've never played a bad Telecaster. But as for me, my weapon of choice is probably always going to be Schecter guitars.

Back to an unpopular gaming opinion. I prefer to play an original GBA than an SP. Provided it's got one of those afterburner lights in it. Just feels much more solid. I also despise the Gameboy Color. Not so much the system, but the library. I can count all of the GBC games I like on one hand.
