It used to be "finds of the year", but it slowly de-vovled into the original games acquired for all time thread.

I only posted there once for what I thought was an outstanding deal. Otherwise, I try not to make that thread any worse

Games Aquired Thread to me is just a boring list. At least in the Finds there are stories on how a deal is obtained and information on the games at times.

Maybe its time for some mass forum cleanup? Merges and deletes and all that crap might do some good.

Also, recent posts in the Games Acquired thread do, in fact, talk about how they got it and whatnot, like Michi's here, Burning Doom's here, or soul_hacker's here.

I'd prefer to keep them seperate as much as possible. I use the Games Acquired thread like I do the Games Beaten thread - to keep an ongoing list of what I've been doing this year. If the two threads became one that list would be lost amongst the endless posts of what people picked up today at the charity shop. I try and limit my posting in the Aqcuisitions thread to once a month personally.

I use Games Acquired to talk about games that were acquired at standard retail price or the going market price - stuff I get at game stores, eBay, cons, whatever...

Finds of the Day is for things that are actual finds - when I pay well below market value. Almost always, it's a solid craigslist or Goodwill deal.

So for me, the cool stuff I got at PAX East I paid "regular" price for - those are games acquired. The free Tandy and Texas Instruments systems I got from a craigslist dude - those are finds.

At least that's how I see it.
