I'll post a more in depth review at a later date in my Wii - Gamecube Thread
Picked up a few games during the one day sale. Unfortunately The Gamecube 60% off sale is over. Gamecube support went away on new Wii consoles, expect more sales for Gamecube games and maybe clearance on all the White Wii/GC Gamestop Pelican controllers.
It looks like Gamestop is doing a different sale per day thru the holidays. I posted the Gamestop Weekly Sales Calendar in a separate Thread, I'll try to update the OP over there every week.
Okay now to the Meat and Potatoes, the stuff I snagged also continued in a second Reply.

Gamecube Chaos Field - $2.24
Okay a crappy SHMUP, but also an uncommon find. I also admit to buying Space Raiders. Chaos Field is just one boss after another of Bullet Hell will you die already you bastard! At least there are unlimited continues, this game deserves an Action Replay invincibility code.

Gamecube Ikaruga - $8.99
This is more like it! The game I ran out the door when I found out about the 60% off sale. I was determined to find a CIB, bought a pristine Ikaruga disc in a generic case at one Gamestop and then went to another to make it complete. Only missing the unique Ikaruga themed Nintendo Power Subscription flyer. The themed flyers are in most the Gamecube games. I kept the generic case since it is a good PS2 case with a memory card holder.
I really don't care too much for SHMUPS, but love this one. I played Ikaruga on the Dreamcast already, had to get the Gamecube version. The change color of the ship is so much better a concept then Chaos Field change to aggressive world.
Very similar to the DC version and no I AM NOT LAYING MY HD CRT ON ITS SIDE.

Gamecube Zelda Twilight Princess - $13.49
o.pwuaioc wrote:If only I didn't have to work today, I could have gone down there and finally bought Twilight Princess for cheap. This blows.
With apologies to o.pwuaioc, I actually was undecided to buy this game. I mean I already have Wii Twilight Princess and Gamecube Wind Waker. The hook holding me back was the hookshot aim in Wind Waker. I just know Wii Princess would have a tighter Hookshot aim control with a Remote. But then there are all the negatives about arm waving sword play and a mirror world.
I have yet to try my Wii version since I'm still playing Wind Waker delayed by Pikmin, Cubivore, Monkeyball, reading this Forum, buying and cleaning stickers off game cases blah blah excuses blah blah. At least I did test boot up all the games and I am impressed with the opening shots in GC Zelda Princess! This hits me with a reminder of ICO and Shadow Colossus.
A good investment, I now own both the left and the right mirrors!
