I'm in the camp that actually hates the controls in Zoda's Revenge. It feels tacked-on and is awkward. Most of the rooms look like they were originally designed with the original grid-based movement system in mind, with jumping puzzles that you can directly skip with eight-way movement. But the trade-off is that it's incredibly easy to miss a jump or just walk off the bottom of a platform.

I died so many times in Zoda's Revenge because I accidentally nudged down while trying to just move directly left or right.

I do wish the series had been continued. These games are charming.
