On the subject of craft beers, my journey went something like this. Started with the usual macros, discovered Rolling Rock/Yuengling, then Sam Adams and then onto the more obscure craft beers.

Recently I'v enjoyed many offerings from New Belgium and Goose Island. The thing about those craft beers is sure they taste good, but damn they are filling! I can't offer them when I'm grilling with friends and family, because well, people complain. They are thick and fill you up, make you feel bloated.

I got drunk off a 12 pack of Sam Adams seasonal winter collection, and the next day realized my shirt was tighter in the midsection. No wonder! I looked up the calories in the beer, over 200 per bottle for most of those. I took in 2,400 calories by drinking a half case of Sam Adams. All that taste isn't worth the gut, to me.

I don't drink every day, by any means, but enjoy a good drinking session once or twice a week with friends. I've had to switch back to a macro type brew, but no Bud or Miller. Now I'm sticking with Yuengling Light. That way I can say I'm not drinking frat house beer, but I'm also not drinking something that WILL give me a beer gut, either. It's definitely a hard thing to mix, taste and less calories.
They have escaped into the mansion where they thought it was safe, yet.

Black adidas high tops are never the wrong footwear.

Classic.
I still want some shoes like that eventually...
If you keep them clean and are easy on them, they'll last for over a year. You'll also get tons of compliments on them, and you can wear them with khakis and not look like a doofus, unless you are a natural doofus.

What I'm drinking (tonight): I'm the DD for MNF, so I bought some O'doul's for the occasion.

Yeah, yeah, yuck it up. But if someone isn't sober in this ring of friends, someone is driving under the influence, which I don't tolerate.

Being the DD doesn't mean you have make yourself drink terrible things.

I don't know if I find it terrible or not. Never tried it.

Alrighty then. Good luck!

Funny story about NA beer that happened recently:

My friend Jon has recently started seeing this girl Hillary, and apparently they've been aping at becoming hipsters, which of course includes becoming local/craft beer snobs. My other friend Adam, Jon's roommate, comes home one evening to them enjoying a six-pack of some random crafty beer and acting in a manner one would call tipsy.

Adam: "What are y'all drinking?"
Jon: "Oh, it's this new Natural Alcohol IPA by (some brewery idk)."
Adam: "What? Let me try that."

Adam tastes the beer. It reminds him of cream soda. He looks at the bottle.

Adam: "Y'all know NA stands for 'non-alcoholic,' right?"

I love having a very decent local brewery.

Nice. When I was in college, my club had some left over kegs of NA beer from an alumni event. One slow evening, we decided to swap out our regular kegs (of delicious, delicious Milwaukee's Best) with kegs of the NA beer. Despite the secret switch, however, a fair number of students still "bragged" about being "incredibly wasted"...

In high school my buddy Brandon's Dad offered us a six pack if we washed his car. You can guess the rest.

The verdict is in.

O'Douls tastes better than most light beers. Definitely tastes better than Coors Light and Bud Light. Yeah, that doesn't say much, but it does say that a non-alcoholic beer tastes better than a traditional beer.

I actually quite enjoyed drinking them. It tastes like beer, and pairs well with brats, as it gives you those "beer and brat" burps.
