I have a mint copy of Wolverine #1 that I am considering selling. What would be a fair price?

One Hundred Billion Dollars :)
I am buying all Saturn games, PM me with your offerings and I will let you know if I need the game or not! (Everything must be CIB)

Currently trying to knock off all the sports games, would like to get them <$5 each! Of course if you would like to donate them I will gladly pay the shipping! :)

Which Wolverine #1? The mini series by Frank Miller or the beginning of his running series with the John Buscema cover?

Also mint solely in your opinion or actually point by point graded according to the Overstreet Guide or CGC certified?

If the condition is mint in layman's terms and in actuality more a 7.5-8 according to guide, than not much. Maybe $20-$25 on a good day.

Mini Series.

It goes for something stupid when cgc graded, so I took it to my local shop. They said it would be somewhere between a 8-9 cgc grade if I wanted to pay to have it graded, which they strongly suggested I should do.

CGC grading costs are slightly confusing, but lets assume $40. May be a bit more or less. Now the thing is CGC will be looking meticulously for faults, not attributes. So if Comic Shop Guy estimates an 8 or 9, a true grading will likely be less than that estimate.

It's a gamble. I would not pay more than $50-$75 for a copy CGC slabbed and graded less than 7.5, and that's if I really wanted it. A quick Ebay search yields quite a few 9.6-9.8 going for Buy It Now prices around $120-$220, so that would be a good median price range.

Sure some folks have listings asking thousands, but the odds of selling at premium prices are slim. I've had an on card C-3PO Star Wars figure from the 90's autographed by Anthony Daniels, made out to "Brett with Force!" listed for $350 or best offer for months now. If anyone responded yet i'd take the first $50 offered, but still holding out for that one guy named Brett out there who is a huge Star Wars fan to be drunk at 3am logging onto Ebay...

A buddy of mine (who really knows his stuff, as he should, as he has written comics for nearly twenty years) gave me this advice after chatting for about a half hour:

"Sounds like it is an 8 or 9-ish, but it depends on who grades it. Don't bother sending it off, but do try to get it graded at a con instead. If you plan on selling it, it would be a bit dumb not to get it graded. You definitely want to see the person who is grading it, and it wouldn't hurt to see if the guy grading it wants to make an offer."

Seems like both of you are on the same page as far as the comic's "worth".

Now reading: Simonson's Thor. Not fond of the tropes of the time (lots of telling and not much showing, which is odd, given how visual the medium is), but within the confines of that period in comic book writing, the actual storytelling is quite good.

The best modern Thor comic I have read in years is "LOKI" by Robert Rodi.

I shall keep that in mind. Simonson's Thor is getting better. Lots of changes to the character, and lots of attention paid to Norse mythology. This comic is not one devoid of research.
