My brother pitched his trash and was about to walk back but one of the trash bags caught his interest. He opened it up and found a Sega CD hooked up to a Genesis model 2 along with two controllers, Vector man, some crappy sports games and above all a mint copy of Lunar Eternal blue!
I know what happened. He lost the foam insert for Lunar 2 and said "fudge it, it's all ruined" and threw everything in the trash. Totally understandable!

Oh god please don't tell me that people actually care about those foam inserts. And I thought it was crazy when people obsessed over Japanese Saturn spine cards.

I just hooked up my PC Engine Duo and my first though was "Breetai would be proud of me." Maybe a sign I spend too much time on this forum...

I do. They keep the disc from floating in the mail or if I were to move again. That was the point of them in the first place in transit, to keep the disc in place since they chose those cavernous cases.

Of course, you can use anything as a replacement for that, if that's your only reason for caring about them. If you were to obsess over the original foam insert, then I might agree with Bone Snap.

edit: E for effort, but don't TAPE the disc in place! This reminded me, I had an eBay seller tape a disc in place for shipping. Got the right idea, I appreciate the effort, but a BAD idea.

Yeah, I don't go bonkers for the block but I'd prefer it was there and if I had bought Saturn games in the day they'd all still have them.

estarland uses a folded piece of bubble wrap in the Sega CD/Saturn games that are missing the original insert.

I bought a saturn game from ebay recently and the seller used tape to secure the disc, but had cut the tape down so it only sat on the clear part in the middle of the disc. I thought that worked ok. Our PAL saturn cases suck, and are actually one of the reasons I'm not too keen on collecting for the system.

Yeah, I got saturn games with tape holding the disc in place before too. I personally really appreciated it, because the damage that would've come to the disc if it had fallen off that crappy PAL spindle (very very very likely) would've been far worse.
