Well done. I'm one of the guys who isn't as big a fan of the original SNES release because Guy isn't available, but you're right, it is still quite faithful. I need to track down 2 and 3 someday...and Guy, but it's legitimately rare, so that will take a bit.SNESdrunk wrote:Tuesday, February 2, 2016 - SNES Final Fight games

Final Fight Guy just would not be worth it unless you're a hardcore collector. It's literally the exact same game, just with Guy. You'd be better off with Final Fight 3.Ack wrote:Well done. I didn't watch the video yet (can't right now) so I don't know if you mentioned it or not, but I just wanted to mention, the Sega CD version of Final Fight (called Final Fight CD) keeps a lot of the stuff the arcade version had that the SNES version left out. It's definitely the better home console port. I haven't checked the going price in a while, but it's gotta be a lot cheaper than Final Fight Guy.SNESdrunk wrote:Final Fight Guy just would not be worth it unless you're a hardcore collector. WORD. The Sega CD port is the definitive home edition. And because of the cheesy arranged soundtrack, which fits so perfectly with the game's vibe, I'm going to call it the best version of the game. Even though it's not quite arcade perfect (almost), and still with a bit of censorship... trust me, it's hard to go back to the SNES version after that.
I review (mostly old) games at: The Annals of Retrodom.

One thing I can say about the SNES version of the original Final Fight is it's certainly worth five bucks. Definitely one of the best SNES games that's still under ten dollars.
I've always wanted Final Fight 3 in my collection but it's just too up there these days.

Plus it's disturbing how short Final Fight 2-3 are. Shorter than a Street Fighter II match.Gunstar Green wrote:One thing I can say about the SNES version of the original Final Fight is it's certainly worth five bucks. Definitely one of the best SNES games that's still under ten dollars.

Personally, Peace Keepers (Rushing Beat Syura) might be my favorite beat em' up on the SNES haha.

I have a soft spot for Sonic Blast Man 2.Xeogred wrote:Personally, Peace Keepers (Rushing Beat Syura) might be my favorite beat em' up on the SNES haha.
"I'M FIGHTING FOR FREEDOM!"
That's also ridiculously expensive now unfortunately.
Re: SNESdrunk reviews
Oh, definitely! If you don't care about multiplayer, it's a fine SNES game to add to your collection. For me, though, it's one of the few reasons I keep a Sega CD.Gunstar Green wrote:One thing I can say about the SNES version of the original Final Fight is it's certainly worth five bucks.
