It's there. One of the admins or mods just needs to enable it.

When enabled, you'll find the blogs in this bar:

User Control Panel • 0 new messages • Search • Members • IRC Chat • Show New Posts • Logout

And there should be a link to your personal blog on the left somewhere below your name and avatar too then...

Saw Lincoln last night. It was slow paced, the anecdotes were fucking boring and Lincoln's head always looked slouched over as if he had a stroke.

I finally get to talk about the Hobbit. Saw it on Friday, after seeing it the Sunday before, both times in 2d, so 24fps. The movie was a fun romp, but again Jackson makes some big changes that just irk me. The change of Azog's (the white Orc) story made since at the beginning, but then they made him into a primary villain and it became silly. The over use of CG for characters annoys me, again Azog as an example. Now I did love some parts, like the new recording of Blunt the Knives was really awesome, as was the scene with Bilbo and Gollum. I also loved the beginning tying the two sets of stories together. I am curious to how the other two movies will turn out, and after they are all out on DVD Ill be cutting it together to follow the Rankin Bass story line, and adding in the songs they took out - 15 Birds... Overall it just made me want to go to New Zealand.

I also watched the greatest documentary of why HOAs are bad, aka Hot Fuzz.

Have you ever seen a no-holds-barred fight between a small Japanese boy and a full-grown blonde woman? Have you ever seen a hobo stabbed in the eye by a shuriken before falling headfirst into a fountain? Have you ever seen a martial arts film where hot tubs figure prominently into the plot at three different point? Have you ever seen a fake native American jump from a second story window to break a flimsy crate over a Japanese man's head? Have you ever Salt Lake City, Utah shamelessly substituted for Los Angeles, California?

I saw all of this...and more!

I thought the cg orcs worked rather well. The "effects" that bothered me were that a few dwarves looked like normal dudes. Like Jackson said "Here, put this fake nose on...Yup. Nailed it."

Seems like most of the issues people are having with Hobbit are it's slow, dragged out pace and the changes to the source material. LOTR had the latter problem, too, but yeah. I don't mind a slow pace.

I understand that they're going to follow the LOTR release cycle and give us an extended edition before the next movie hits next year. I think i'll probably just wait for that before I see it.

For me it was the few Dwarves who's faces looked pretty much human, so in close up shots they didn't look very Dwarfy.

I love that movie. We've watched it at a Bad Movie Night and it was a hit. In fact, that exact scene you posted was almost everyone's favorite part.

I also love that at the beginning, the Ninja are 'hidden' everywhere, and one of them is literally just standing behind a bush. fucking brilliant.
