Video Game "Look what I found"

Picked this up today for 20.00. The systems are all missing battery covers, but all work.

I was looking threw the shelf of retro games at my local thrift shop and I found PS1 Japanese import! Its GRITZ The Pyramid Adventure. Its complete in box, with the manual and what I think is the registation card. All for $4.99! This is my first import and I was so happy to find it. It works flawlessly on my tape and tissue moded US PS2 Slim. I Did attempt to play it but I have no idea what is going one. The manual is completely in japanese so its no help to me. Anyone know what this game is about and how to play it?

There is a section for Video Game Finds, over a 1000 pages of goodies. No worries you didn't know and a Mod will probably move this over there.

Good find on Gritz Pyramid Adventure, especially in a Retro Shop outside Japan. I never even heard of it! You only paid five bucks and got an obscure game few have played. Congrats!

You pegged my curiosity on the game, took a while but I did find info on it. Evidently there is another similar game called Gritz n Ham.

Gritz is a puzzle game sort of like bomberman meets chutes & ladders where you try to avoid getting washed down a number of drains onscreen and try to get your opponents to fall into the traps you set for them. the game is basically the same as a 3DO import i forget the title of (by the same developers), but with a story mode added to keep you more interested. funny how LOADS of japanese puzzle games get away with adding characters and "story mode!", but i digress. gritz is 2D, top-down, and sorta fun once you get the timing and water avoidance thing down.

Goodwill was a good stop this evening. I went to pick up a long phone cord that my parents need, but found some goodies.



10 foot heavy duty phone cord
Playstation breakout box with AV and svideo plugs but you can still plus an AV cable into it
PS2 HD/Net adapter
Wavebird reciever
Earthworm Jim for GG in clamshell

Total damage $8.66 and the phone cord I went for was $3.

Now I need to find a orphaned wavebird controller.

^good finds on the PS2 network adapter and WaveBird receiver. I've passed up a few WaveBirds at yardsales because they were sans receiver.
