What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Both versions of the punisher were a lot better than they got credit for. And you gotta love all the flying knife shots in the dolph lundgren version.

War Zone is on the same level as the Dolph Lundgren one.

Gamer

9/10

That first teabag at around 3 minutes in made me realize this film was created for me (a gamer not a teabagger)
So was the satire good or mostly unintentional? Movies which are critical of videogames ought to become more mainstream if anything.

I'm a bit pissed off cuz the movie theatre closed for the season again. Now, I can't go see Inglorious Bastards, District 9, Saw 6, and Gamer.

There were a bunch of others, but I'm too upset to think str8.

I now officially hate my hometown.

Closed for the season? I've never heard of a theater doing that, at least not anymore.

They did it last year. Last year was the first time. And many rumors went around. One rumor was they were closed for good, and an extension was it was gonna be an auto shop.

It should be noted that the theatre shows only 4 movies, doesn't do 3D movies and doesn't do midnight movies (like Rocky Horror and Hedwig), though they do midnight screenings (been to Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Star Wars Episode 3 and The Dark Knight midnight screenings).

Hopefully, the Art House will play movies this time. Usually, they just use it to show sporting events (gratis). The Art House, for those out there, is part of Big Wave Dave's a small convenience store near the stop light in northern Avon. It has about 32 seats and when they first opened it, they played "The Exorcist" and "Ringu" on the first two nights (Oct. 30 and 31) and on the weekend played "ET".

They also take recommendations from people that stop in. I've recommended Return of the Living Dead and REPO! The Genetic Opera. Even thought the owner isn't much for horror films, I wish I could get him to screen obscure horror films in October (like Deep Red or Sleepaway Camp). I also wanna talk to him about the subject of public domain films (i.e. Night of the Living Dead, Little Shop of Horrors, etc).

Destino - the Walt Disney/Salvador Dali collaberation. Beautiful is the best and only way I can really describe it.

They wrote it back in the 40s but it was lost for over 50 years until they were working on Fantasia 2000.

I found out about it when doing a panel on European Animation at Dragoncon this weekend and a girl came up to me afterwards asking if I knew anything about it. Sure enough, its on youtube.
