Totally agree on this point. The Watchmen is as faithful and true to the source material as any film could be. The overarching themes, characterizations, and back stories are more important in the Watchmen than the accuracy of each precise story beat. I would say the film nailed those aspects. The extended cut incorporating the Tales of the Black Freighter scenes is even better. Sure the film has its cringe-worthy moments. That scene between Silk Spectre and Nite Owl in Archie? Horrid. Guess what, it pretty cringe worthy in the comics as well. As far as the significant elements of the story that were changed for the film, well ... a giant 'extra-dimensional' squid beast works just fine in the comics. Amazingly even. It would have been completely vapid and stupid to try that on screen. It would have devolved the film into an asinine CG fest and robbed it of the tone it had maintained up until that point. Incorporating Dr. Manhattan into the endgame plot still works on a thematic level and is plausible in terms of character motivations.

I think Snyder was the right guy for Watchmen and the wrong guy for every other DC movie he's been involved with.

Dude. Yes. Snyder is more cutout for grim-dark style stories. I think he'd do a pretty decent job with some of the DC Vertigo titles (NOT Sandman!), but he doesn't have the right skill set to handle the mainline DC stories, IMO.

Wrong. The best Hulk stars Lou Ferigno.

He's got you there, Lou was the Hulk, the rest are sad knockoffs and CGI jokes compared.

Agreed, imo he should stick to more alternative dc character movies (if they continue this connected universe for awhile) He cant handle the mainstream anymore. Its requires a balance of storytelling that he for whatever reason cant accomplish.

He still plays the Hulk as Hulks voice.

I enjoyed Pumpkin head 1 and 2. Still think it's an underrated monster in horror.
